Celebrity Jewelry: Gilmore Girl’s Rory

Like Mother, Like Daughter (Gilmore Girls, No. 1) Rory’s jewelry style combines the funkiness of Lorelai with the properness of Emily, the way she bridges all other gaps between the two. We’ve watched Rory grow up on the show, and through the years her hair, clothes and accessories have changed, but to truly become Rory Gilmore you will need:

1. Silver choker: Keep this a simple sterling silver choker with either black or red beads. Rory wears very dainty delicate necklaces that are very plain. Use a necklace as opposed to a pendant and chain.

2. Delicate dangle earrings. Try a change from the large bohemian chandelier earrings that are style. Use a delicate sterling silver earring that is barely noticeable to add a feeling of femininity. like these tanzanite and white gold earrings.

3. Maybe it’s just because I always picture Alexia Bledel as our generations Audrey Hepburn, but I always picture Rory in a tiara when she is dressed up. Granted this isn’t a look for the grocery store, but for special occasions, a tiara can distinguish you from all the other women who are wearing black dresses. Plus they are just fun to wear, I wear one to do household tasks when I don’t feel like vacuuming. Keep the tiara small so it looks like it could be real and that you didn’t steal it from a Beauty Queen. The tiara should be so small it almost loooks like a comb iconicon

What jewelry is work appropriate? Coupon Code Included

We’ve all heard the expression “dress for the job you want, not the one you have”. So how does a person keep their personality without hurting their work image? For some reason “Casual Friday” doesn’t mean wear what you think is appropriate, but it means wear pressed khakis. So there’s a balance of your personal style and what is appropriate. There are a few essentials that every career woman needs.

Sterling Silver Enhanced Blue Cult Fw Pearl Necklace 1. Pearls. Pearls are a standard for working women, but they don’t have to be boring. Try flat coin pearls or a multi strand. There are some great enhanced pearls that you can choose in your favorite color like this strand of blue freshwater pearls with a sterling silver clasp for only $9.99. As with any of the pictures that you like, just click on them for more information.

2. Gold earrings. Gold is perfect for the workplace because it adds sparkle to your face without being over the top. Personalize this look by wearing a different shape of earring, like disc earrings, or rose or white gold.

3. Gold Watch. A lot of people just use cell phones instead of watches to tell time, I’m guilty of this. However, in the workplace, it looks much more professional to wear a nice watch. Gold watches used to belong only for an elite few, but try a gold tone watch with black hills gold accents like this watch for only $59.99.

4. Signature Ring. Every woman needs a gemstone ring she is known for, this can be your birthstone, or your favorite color. For the workplace keep the ring dainty so it doesn’t dominate the conversation when you talk with your hands. Try to limit this to just one ring one each hand so it isn’t distracting. Wearing a ring, especially if you type, makes the day go by faster because it’s something sparkly to look at and make the work day bearable.

Unique Engagement Ring: Russian Emerald

iconicon Chrome Diopside looks like what we picture Emeralds to look like. Unfortunately, Emeralds are extremely expensive, heavily included, and very difficult to find. One of my new favorite gemstones is Chrome Diopside, also known as Russian Diopside, Russian Emerald, or Russian Diamond. It is mined in Siberia, which apparently is very cold and icy so it can only be mined a few months out of the year.  This means that there isn’t much in existance. Chrome diopside is one of the few gemstones that isn’t heat treated to enhance color. The only drawback is that it is only a 5.5-6.5 on the MOHS hardness scale, so there may be some tendency to scratch if you are rough on your rings. It’s just so sparkly though, great color, is unique and quite affordable. The ring pictured is 1.25 carats with diamond accents in 14kt white gold for only $150. Chrome Diospide is a great alternative for May babies who can’t find an emerald to suit them. Also makes a great right hand ring. Use the link below to get 15% off at Ice.com.
