Project Runway: Bye Bye Kayne

13 September 2006

It was a confusing episode of "Project Runway".  This show has
always been a little predictable. There are challenges,
clothes are made, most of them look like crap & someone goes home.  Really
not that hard. After three seasons, I thought we had this down, & then suddenly
everything changed. Things that made me think "What the crap" this episode?

1. Angela & Vincent were brought back because that was their reward for
previously winning challenges. Apparently, we just didn’t understand before that they designed
worth crap. They had to win the challenge in order to stay & 3 designers would
be eliminated. Surprise! They designed worth crap & were both eliminated a
second time.

2. Vincent’s model was in a bike accident so he had to fit his outfit to a
completely different size/shape of model & was then judged poorly for it not
fitting properly.

3. The designers had to use every scrap of fabric they bought. Michael lined
his purse several times with the remaining fabric & this was genius, while Angela
just stuffing her remaining fabric in the purse to give it shape was abominable.

4. The designers could only use black & white fabrics.  How about a
challenge where no one can make anything ugly? That would be shocking.

5. Kayne was eliminated for finally doing what the judges have been telling
him to do, while Jeffery stayed for making a Madonna meets French maid outfit
when the judges just last week ripped into Laura for her dress looking like a
maids outfit.

Laura won this challenge, & rightly so.  She was the only designer who
really used every scrap of fabric well, by making a purse out of it. I would
really like to see Laura in the top three so she can show at fashion week.
Michael as well, I really don’t care whether Uli or Jeffery get the other spot,
I’ve seen enough of these one hit wonders.  Who do you want to see in the
top three?   Leave a comment & let me know.
