12 February 2007I was born after the time that Gap jeans were a must have. Maybe I just wasn’t able to afford them, & neither was anyone else around me, so they never caught on. I admit that I’ve made fun of the Gap & Old Navy commercials as much as anyone else, but I’m only human, how could I help it? I’ve always thought that Gap was a little over priced. I’m having a good day if I can find something on the clearance rack at "Old Navy" that I can afford. I like the quality of their clothes, but they are just too expensive sometimes. It seems like I’m just paying for a label as discussed in the article Belisi: luxe handbags at the Gap?
The article discusses some good things that are happening at the GAP, such as the "Wear Now, Wear Later" section at the Gap website. This is a section where the same skirts, tops & dresses are shown for winter & spring. I really love the fact that they understand that clothes aren’t just thrown away, & that we don’t need a completely new wardrobe for every season. Belisi also points out the bad, well not bad, maybe just different ideas of the Gap. Gap has introduced a new line of handbags that cost around $198. I can understand paying that for a designer bag, but for a purse at the Gap? It just seems like you wouldn’t have any money left to put in the purse, or to spend at the food court, which is the whole purpose of shopping at the mall to begin with. What do you think? Would you pay $198 for a Gap purse?
