Worst Dressed
26 February 2007It was a sad year for jewelry at the 79th annual academy awards. Most women just forgot to wear it. There was a huge trend were no earrings were worn, plunging necklines with no necklaces. The dresses however were embellished to the hilt, covered in bows, feathers, & all manner of awkward trims. I agree that with these kinds of dresses, jewelry should be kept to a minimum, but I disagree in wearing these dresses in the first place. This does not take the place of jewelry people! Two lines of rickrack cost about $.40, you can wear that to the grocery store. Your dress will be outdated in 25 seconds but diamonds will always be in fashion. Yeras from now when you look back at your photos, your grandkids will say "Maaan look at the dress, but do you still have that necklace?" The Academy Awards are about bling. When else can you get Harry Winston to loan you millions of dollars in diamonds while you have two bodyguards, or jewelry guards, watch your every move? The Oscars are a time for glamour & I was sorely disappointed this year.
