Written while watching Oprah
18 May 2007I’m watching Oprah because well it’s day time & that’s what you do in the daytime. Sarah Jessica Parker is on & I’m really struck by her new fashion line called “Bitten”. Nothing is more than $20. The sizes range between 2-22. She is so excited about the line & believes that everyone should be able to afford fashion.
The bitten line has gotten some bad press, well because apparently it was ugly & boring. I was amazed that she realizes how hard people work for their money. She has over 400 items in the line & she calls them classic pieces. I would call them boring, lots of navy, red, gray, black. I don’t think the line is spectacular, you can easily get a striped t-shirt for under $20. However, if the quality is good that is an entirely different option. It’s not Carrie Bradshaw, but it’s definitely Sarah Jessica Parker, think vests with jeans. However, I think it’s commendable that she tried. They are classic pieces, so at least you can get something you will wear a lot of for less than $20. What really makes it special is Sarah Jessica’s name, but hopefully the clothes will evolve over time. I am excited to see more of the clothes at the steve&barry stores because their website doesn’t seem to be working.
