Summer is finely here. It’s only been eight month’s worth of snow here in Utah. So of course I am glad to finally see the sun but summer does have its downfalls. For instance, I find it very difficult to get dressed in the summertime. In fact, I have lots of winter clothes and very few summer clothes because of the modesty factor. So I guess that it is a good thing that I’ve been living in Utah after all. It is depressing though to go shopping and not be able to wear one thing in the entire store.

However there is a new fashion that is changing all of that. Camisoles and light layers are everywhere this summer. I have bought about eight of them because they enable me to be able to wear virtually any top over it and still be modest. It’s a style that I even see celebrities & fashionistas wearing, its finally fashionable to be modest. Well maybe that isn’t completely true but it’s a fashion that can easily be worn modestly. These camisoles are so wonderful because they are long and have high necks. You can either wear a cute shrug on top of them, or just use them to layer with virtually any other top. It makes getting dressed so much easier who knew that getting dressed was hard? It certainly has been summer’s past.  Hopefully,  I’ve stocked up enough that I will be able to get dressed for all of the. summer’s of the rest of my life.

I’ve heard a lot of tales lately that the month of May is gold month. I haven’t been able to officially substantiate this claim yet. It is kind of like how the greeting card companies make up their own holidays. This can work to your advantage if you’re a May baby and can’t afford, or don’t like emeralds. Buy your self some gold to celebrate. Gold is always in fashion and it’s a good investment. Plus it’s just really sparkly. Plain gold seems to be very high end. It’s like saying “Look at me I don’t need fancy gemstones”. A lot of designer pieces are just plain gold. I never thought I would envy a May baby before but it’s finely happened.

One of the easiest way is to get quality genuine emerald is to know where to shop. It seems like a simple enough solution but this isn’t the case. Most stores don’t sell emeralds in quantity. What you see is what you get. Also most emeralds seem to be set in yellow gold. I had the same problem when I was looking for a ruby ring. There were many beautiful rings to choose from but they were all in yellow gold. This didn’t interest me at all because yellow gold is not flattering to my skintone.

A good way around this is to design your own piece of jewelry. This can be intimidating and expensive, but not if you know where to shop. For instance if you shop at  Jewelry Television, otherwise known as ACNTV, you can get a quite large loose emerald. You then have the option of many different settings to choose from. You can either have these set by a jeweler, or there are even some snap castings that you can set yourself. This is of great way to get a unique piece of jewelry that you can afford. It makes it a lot easier to be a May baby.
