Angelina Jolie’s Inner Beauty

No discussion of celebrity inner beauty would be complete without mentioning Angelina Jolie. So often, It seems like stars and every one else for that matter only start charity work after their careers are already over. It seemed like charity work has always been a big priority to Angelina, no matter how busy she is with other projects. Here are some lessons I have learned from her.

  • She makes many fields visits. She really wants to learn what the conditions actually are.

  • Celebrities can use their power for good. It always seems like she’s more concerned with conditions in Africa then she is with how she looks which is quite refreshing and a view that I wish more people in Hollywood would take.

  • Ignorance does not make the problem go away. Angelina Jolie said “We cannot close ourselves off to information and ignore the fact that millions of people are out there suffering. I honestly want to help. I don’t believe I feel differently from other people. I think we all want justice and equality, a chance for a life with meaning. All of us would like to believe that if we were in a bad situation someone would help us”

  • Everyone has something unique to give. I know that the first time that I saw Angelina Jolie I never expected that she would do so much good. This was back in the days when she was married to Billy Bob Thorton and creepy details of their relationship were hitting all of the tabloids. However, she has gone on to become a powerhouse in the charitable industry without losing her unique sense of style or personality. She has used who she is for the betterment of the world. This is something that we all should do. When we combine all of our different talents we have enough varied skills to make a huge change.

Most of all I have learned from Angelina that everyone has something to give and it’s time to put those talents to work now. We can do something about world poverty now, we do not have wait until we are retired. Angelina is only in her early thirties but she has made this cause one of her top priorities.

Beauty Mark

There’s been a big secret in Hollywood for a very long time. Yes, it seems like Hollywood is extremely open & flamboyant. However, they have been hiding one simple, human fact. Celebrities have acne too. For decades they’ve hidden it under heavy make up (which can’t be too great for the skin), or they’ve turned a stray zit into a beauty mark. This left the average person at home wondering why they couldn’t have that peaches & cream complexion.

I thought it was so refreshing when the Proactiv commercials came out featuring celebrities like Puff Daddy & Jessica Simpson who openly admitted that they had acne problems, & that Proactiv worked for them. Acne.com also helps in the education of this skin problem. It covers the myths & causes. They even have a way to save $20 on Proactiv 3 step treatment. It’s funny to me that in a town that is so open about everything they have been hiding the fact that stars get skin blemishes too. I think this is part of the perfect image they try to portray. Well now we can all have beautiful skin, without disappearing beauty marks. It just takes a little know how & dedication as well as education. Like anything else, admitting you have a problem is the first step.

Moment of zen

I’ve had a crazy weekend.  I need a moment of zen as "Jon Stewart" would say. I obviously need a moment of zen pretty badly seeing as I just put Jon Stewart in quotes for no apparent reason.  I’m no too tired to go back & erase the quotes. Jewelry always seems to have a calming effect on me, obviously I need more of it.

I probably need an alexandrite piece from the Soho collection because I don’t have one yet, & that just isn’t right. I wish I was born in June so that I could justify buying another one. I love looking at my alexandrite ring & watching the colors change.  It’s so soothing & definitely my moment of zen.
