I’ve been thinking more about the Target wedding dresses. Here are some reasons to not get swept away in the affordability of the dress. It’s difficult because who wouldn’t want an $80.00 dress? However….

• The dress will probably not fit you perfectly because they just come in standard sizes. You will have to take it into a seamstress which may cost more than the dress that you really wanted.
• The style that you choose has been mass produced it can be on thousands of brides this season. If you want a dress with sleeves forget about it. Maybe for the fall but I doubt.
• You can’t try on the dress beforehand you can’t even touch the material because the dresses are only available online.
• The low price can seduce you into buying something that you don’t really love.
• You may end up with a wedding dress that you don’t feel special in.

I’m not saying don’t try it, but at least make an informed decision.

My brother gave my sister in law pearl earrings for her wedding present. She wears them everyday. June is the month of the pearl, because:

• Pearls are the birthstone for June.
• June is the month for weddings, which also means pearls. Pearls for the bride, bridesmaids, mother of the bride, that’s a lot of pearls.
• Graduations, where many young women will be receiving pearls as their gifts. This is often a young woman’s first piece of “real” jewelry, that they will treasure forever.

Pearls are one of my favorite birthstones, because they are classic & go with everything. June babies are so lucky. However, it seems like we all buy a lot of pearls, whether for ourselves, or as gifts.
