A Month of Pearls
25 June 2007My brother gave my sister in law pearl earrings for her wedding present. She wears them everyday. June is the month of the pearl, because:
- Pearls are the birthstone for June.
- June is the month for weddings, which also means pearls. Pearls for the bride, bridesmaids, mother of the bride, that’s a lot of pearls.
- Graduations, where many young women will be receiving pearls as their gifts. This is often a young woman’s first piece of “real” jewelry, that they will treasure forever.
Pearls are one of my favorite birthstones, because they are classic & go with everything. June babies are so lucky. However, it seems like we all buy a lot of pearls, whether for ourselves, or as gifts.
