Why everyone should have a tiara
21 July 2007Thanks to everyone who participated in “Random Acts of Bling” last week. I can’t wait for Monday, the next prize is so sparkly. That’s the technical term, sparkly. More than that, the contest definitely got me out of my, “People suck” mood.
I just packed up the tiara to be mailed. I actually own three or four tiaras, & I’m not even a beauty queen. Here’s why:
We’re all princesses, but people tend to forget that. They remember pretty quickly if you have a tiara on your head & it’s more polite than just saying bite me, although that is fun too.
A tiara isn’t necessary, which is exactly the appeal. It’s sparkly too.
There are some parts of being grown up that just aren’t fun. When I was little I thought that being grown up consisted of wearing a faux fur coat & living in a pink house. (What can I say? Barbie prepared me for grown up life). I was very disillusioned in my early twenties when I found out this wasn’t the case. Being grown up consisted of paying car insurance & washing dishes. So sometimes, just looking at a tiara, or throwing it on to run boring errands, like cleaning the house, just makes me smile & everyone else who seems me smile as well.
So next Christmas, ask for a tiara, you need one.
