This contest is now closed, check back Monday for a new Random act of Bling.
Random Acts of Bling is a contest which takes place every week that attempts to remind people that they are special & not invisible. To enter, just leave a comment on this post with a true story about how humanity doesn’t suck. Usually in order to win the contest you have to post about a random act of kindness, but this week, any comment will be entered, but if you leave something about how humanity doesn’t suck, well it’s all the better. The winner will be drawn using a random number generator at 6pm Mountain time on July 27th.
This week’s prize is a 1.80 carat genuine amethyst pendant set in .925 Sterling Silver that comes complete with a 16″ .925 sterling silver chain. This pendant is also what the professionals call “sparkly”.
The Rules:
1. You must be over 18 or have your parent’s permission to give me your address. In turn, I pinky swear to not sale or spam your address.
2. Winner should live in the lower 48 states. I will pay all shipping costs.
3. One entry per person per week.
4. If you have previously won a Random Act of Bling, you can enter again, but the jewelry must be given away to a random person that you don’t know.
5. The jewelry is not to be sold. It is to remind you that you are special. Ideally, the jewelry would be given away by you to someone who looks like they need some cheering up, or needs to be seen.

Even a little child can lead them and also save a life. My oldest grandson who was 7 was at his best friends house when his friend began to choke. My grandson did the heimlech on the friend and saved his life. WOW. It is great to know that when so many people are down on children that my grandson can can prove them wrong

I only have one necklace so this would be great!

What a beautiful necklace!
Mine is a very simple act of kindness that was shown to my family. We were at our favorite restaurant and the kids excitedly ran up to the big bubblegum machine that we always stop at on the way out and I realized I didn’t have any change. By the time I went over to the cashier to get four quarters and came back a nice young couple had already given each of the kids a quarter and they were taking turns watching their gumballs fall through the chutes and funnels and loops to their waiting hands.

Kelly G you made a super valid point.
I wanted to state another act of kindness that people grace others with. I formerly use to assist the blind by helping them with computers and take them to shopping, bank, chores, and entertainment. When I use to go out and assist others with their chores I also noticed people were so willing to talk and help with doors and just general courtesy. If you ever run across someone that looks like they may need assistance, don’t be afraid to help, just do it!

Gorgeous necklace…and my birthstone!
My story: A couple of months ago, I took a trip to New Zealand. A friend from the US had an acquaintance in NZ from a trip he had taken a few years ago. After one e-mail from my friend, his acquaintance had offered to give me a place to stay. I didn’t expect him to play tour guide as well. The visit was absolutely lovely. My host gave up his entire weekend to make sure I enjoyed the time I had to spend in Wellington.

Church groups often participate in helping the homeless and feeding them. I’m writing this just to bring awareness to how generous people can be by simply sharing their time one day out of a year or providing a meal for someone who is homeless. I assisted in preparing meals and sitting down to eat with the homeless. I listened to their stories of how they became homeless. It can easily happen to anyone.
“Random Acts Of Bling” shows that someone is willing to merely pass along a necklace in hopes of it being passed to someone who needs it.
Again, if I win. Please give it to the person under my 1st blog.

On a recent 20 hour road trip with my 5 month old baby our car broke down 2 hours from our destination and we had to spend the night at a hotel (I know, crazy me, I wanted to drive straight through … wasn’t meant to be!) Anyways, I checked in with my son at 2 in the morning, dead tired, loaded with stuff, all stinky and somewhat miserable for having to stop so close to where we were going!
The girl behind the counter was THE nicest person in the world that night. She helped carry my things to the room and she was just so sweet and helpful.

It is nice that my former students will talk to me in the store – even if they did not enjoy the subject that I taught…they still enjoyed the class (and the teacher).

Please enter me and here’s a story that shows that normal people are still doing nice things for others just to show God’s love:
My pal V is pregant and has had a really yucky pregnancy with lots of nausea, etc. Add to that the fact that she has toddler (BUSY!) and is in the process of selling her home, buying a new one, and packing up all her stuff. On top of all of that, she is still taking the time to fix a homemade ham dinner with all the fixings and take to another friend of mine. She’s only met this friend once or twice but she’s doing this because my friend has 4 boys, just had a baby girl by c-section, and because V believes that this is a love ministry that God has given her.
