I work as an optech. most of the time I really love my job when I can see a pair of glasses make all the difference in the world for a small child’s world,and to be able to see more clearly,or maybe not know what they really look like. We live in a small community where there just isn’t a lot of money for the best.We see a lot of people on state aide-some times,these people can’t get a pair but once every 4 yrs.That just doesn’t cut it when your eyes go from bad to worse,and theres no extra money for the frames.When I’ve seen this happen more than once to a couple of people who just can’t make it to 4 yrs,I’ve kicked in my spiffs to cover the expense. I don’t say anything to them about it,I’ll just give them a call and let them know that the new glasses have arrived, and see that they can come in to be fitted to them. It feels so good to see the wonders in the little eyes,and the smiles on their faces.
