When I was a kid, I was always on the lookout for role models, princesses to look up to. I didn’t know it at the time. Luckily, my parents did know this, so they always made sure that I was surrounded with good books, music & TV.I feel like I’m getting really old & should be saying things like “Back in the day”, even though I’m 25. The world just seems to have changed a lot. I look at celebrities who are my age, who are role models for the younger generation & they all seem to be going to prison. Trying to find good role models, books & movies for a teenager now must be almost impossible.
So I was excited to see a movie coming out Opening August 24th in select theaters: Eye of the Dolphin. It looks like a movie that everyone can enjoy, with a fantastic storyline written by Wendell Morris, who is a three time Emmy Winner. The movie is about a teenager who gets expelled from an LA high school. Then she has to go live with her distant father in the Bahamas, where Alyssa befriends a dolphin. The really amazing part of the story is that Alyssa & the dolphin try to help the impoverished people in the Bahamas. That is definitely a positive role model for teenagers to look up to, something that anyone can learn from. I just wish there were more movies coming out like this one.

Hey….the thing is, Carly Schroeder is really a cool young actress who isn’t too sweet — (she’s tough, actually, check her out in Gracie) — but is a sort of the anti-Lindsey Lohan. Not because she’s a “oh so good” kind of person — not at all, she’s just cool and smart and talented. I can’t wait to see her in this movie. I heard she did all her dolphin stunts and when you looka t the trailer and see her getting pulled through the water by the dolphin — wow. That’s like magic.

OMG! I love dolphins! I just got back from Cancun where I swam with them! They were so friendly and beautiful! I also totally got my hair braided! I can’t wait to see this movie!!!

yea, CARLY’S AWESOME~~
it’s not that she’s not good looking (she has the Hollywood star look which is blond and blue eyes) she’s different! she’s cool, she’s refreshing and she actually knows how to act!!! i think she’s already a star now but she doesn’t do stupid things like Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan…
i’m definitely gonna go watch this movie~~ just to support serious actors like Carly! i’m sure she picks good scripts!
btw, anybody knows where can I check the theaters for this movie? thx
