The Free Pearl Necklace goes to

21 September 2007

I was having a so-so week, but then I read all of the great comments on my free pearl necklace post & saw how many people wanted to give the necklace to someone else. Thanks to everyone who linked to or stumbled this post. Check back on Monday for a new Random Act of Bling. Ok, I know, I know, enough with all of the talking Sarakastic, who won? The winner was chosen by a random number generator & the pearl necklace goes to Sasha who left this comment:

I think that my grandmother really deserves to feel special and beautiful. She works 50 hours a week at a Taco Bell, just to go home to her trailer and watch soaps. She recently fought colon cancer and is winning that battle (we’re keeping our fingers crossed for her.. 1 year cancer free). She’s never had a lot and something as special as this could light her up for so long.

Aside from that, thank you so much for doing this. I actually grew up very poor and knew what it was like to feel drab and a bit down on myself because of that silly thing. This can mean so much, to so many people. I applaud you and I hope one day I’m in the position to pass happiness along like you are.

Congrats to you Sasha. It really sound like your grandmother deserves those pearls. I’m glad you won and I hope you’ll comment about how she likes them. The best part is the look on their faces!
