Free Carnelian Earrings
1 October 2007
Update: This contest is now closed. There will be a new contest starting Monday.
I was at Target on a Saturday. Never go to Target on a Saturday. As the Gilmore Girls would say everyone had their “fight face” on. I could visibly feel the tension in the air. It was crowded & noisy & there’s always that fear that someone will take the stuff you want before you get to it. I almost got ran over with a shopping cart twice. It really made me see just how tense we all are & how much we see strangers as the enemy.
I was reading a book called “The Power of Nice: Conquering the Business World with Kindness”. It said something to the effect of, treat everyone you see as if they are the most important person of the world. They are. If not to you, then to someone else.
I started Random Acts of Bling because I saw so many women who felt invisible. They had forgotten that they are the most important person in the world. This is a weekly contest where I give away a nice piece of jewelry. The winner can keep the jewelry, or give it away to someone else. May I suggest giving it to someone in the Target parking lot :p those people could use some kindness. To enter the contest just read the rules & then leave a comment, trackback, or link to a post on your blog with a reason why humanity doesn’t suck, a random act of kindness, or who you would give these earrings to. The winner will be chosen at 6pm Mountain Time on Friday by a random number generator.
The prize this week are genuine carnelian earrings set in sterling silver.
The rules:
One entry per person per week. If you have won a previous contest, you can still enter but please give the jewelry away at random if you win again.
I will pay all shipping so please live in the lower 48 states. I won’t sell your address. As such, please don’t sell this jewelry. It’s to make you or whoever you give it to feel special & remind the receiver that good things happen.
Contestants should be over 18.
Links or stumbles aren’t required, but are greatly appreciated.
Comments/trackbacks/or links to blog posts should contain a Random Act of Kindness, reason why humanity doesn’t suck, or who you will give this to if you win. Good luck!

No one who sees a little kid’s eyes light up at the sight of a puppy can say that humanity sucks.
