Why didn’t someone stop me?
10 October 2007 We’ve all had hairstyles where we’ve thought “Why didn’t someone stop me?” For me, it was the out of control highlights in college. It ended up with almost all of my hair being bleach blonde. I don’t know if blondes have more fun because blond with my skintone… well it just wasn’t pretty. This is why I love the trend of having a virtual makeover. I tried out a site called Makeover Solutions today. I just used a model with my face shape & skin tone, but it’s possible to upload your own photo as well. Here is what I love about Makeover Solutions:
1. There are a lot of features to try whether you want celebrity hair or you can even add low lights. There are tons of options even with the free account that I was using.
2. You can try on different product lines like e.l.f. or smash box if you have an upgraded account. They have a lot of accessories & even eyeglasses so you can get a better feeling of what the products would look like on you. I hate it when I shop for cosmetics at the store because they can’t be returned. This means that I have to buy about twenty tubes of lipstick to find one that I really like. A virtual makeover eliminates all of that. You can even just click the “buy” button next to some of the products if you see something that you really like.
3. You can try on styles that you might not be brave enough to try otherwise, like blue highlights.
For my virtual makeover I wanted to have my glasses, cosmetics & jewelry as close to what I normally wear as possible. I wanted to do an experiment with haircolor. At least now I don’t have to wonder “Why didn’t anyone stop me?”. It’s amazing to think that this is the same girl with a different hair color. I can see the results for myself & pick the best solution.
