People always talk about how opals are full of fire. I always think “Okay, maybe I’m just not seeing it. The last time I checked fire was not a milky, opaque white”. That was until I found out about black opal. This is definitely on my list of “gemstones I have seen & now must own”. Yes, it’s a long list, but black opal is near the top.
Lightning Ridge Black Opal is one of the more rare gemstones out there. This way if you are an October baby you can still have your birthstone in your favorite color. Yes, this opal is my favorite, don’t tell the other’s they’ll be jealous.
