Free Citrine & Tanzanite Ring

19 November 2007

citrinetanzanitering.jpgThis contest is now closed, check the banner in the sidebar for the latest contest which always starts on a Monday.

I love a rant on Gilmore Girls where Lorelai says that she’s going to start a newspaper on kindness. She’d include articles about how many cars who made it home safely, or puppies aren’t they cute. Life is hard, I’m not trying to gloss over that. I just hope to remind & be reminded that there are good things & good people in this world.

So every week I give away a piece of jewelry that I call a Random act of Bling. You can either keep the jewelry for yourself, or give it away to brighten someone’s day. To enter the contest just read the rules & then leave a comment with who you would give this jewelry to or a random act of kindness.

The prize this week is .53 tcw citrine & tanzanite ring size 7 sterling silver.

The rules are:

One entry per person per week.

Winner is drawn by a random number generator at 6pm Mountain Time on Friday.

Contestant should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states. I will pay for shipping & please don’t sell the jewelry.

If you’ve already won, you can win again but please give the jewelry away at random.

If you stumble this post or link back, it will make me smile but it’s not required.

Comment should contain a random act of kindness, or who you would give this jewelry away to & why.

Hi, Please enter me in your contest for the lovely ring. It is not my size, but I know who would love it as a gift. Thanks and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

The ring actually is my size but I’m not sure I would keep it for myself. I think if I won the ring I would take it our local homeless shelter (La Puente, which does amazing work) and ask one of the workers to give it to someone who they think really needs a pick-me-up this holiday season. The holidays can be a lonely time for people without family or homes… this ring might help someone through them with a smile on their face.

Beautiful ring!! I would give this to my grandmother. My grandfather recently passed and my grandmother has had a really hard time dealing with it. They had just celebrated their 55 year wedding anniversary a week before. I think this ring would really lift her spirits. Thanks for the giveaway.

If I won I would give this ring to my Mother. She has been soo good to me lately and has gone well out of her way to make my transition into motherhood smooth but emotially and fiancially. I rarely have the chance to give back to her so it would really be great if I could give her something super nice for once!

Enter me please. Let’s see the only random act of kindness I have done lately is holding open doors for moms with strollers. With how crowded stores are getting, I hate seeing moms struggling & barely any one helps any more!

I would love to give this one to my momma- she so deserves it (and it’s even her size!)

My friend Pam and her husband are adopting a brother and sister next month. Her husband is coming home from Iraq for the court proceedings. I would love to surprise her with this ring on her birthday which is December 8th. She is always doing for others and puts herself on the back burner. She has been frazzled with this adoption process and it would be nice to give her a little bling.

Smiling at a stranger, especially the elderly is a simple gesture I always try to do. It amazes me how this simple act of kindness can warm my heart and maybe theirs too. Give it a try, it just might make your day!

Who to give it to? What a wonderful dilemma. Maybe one of my nieces, one’s a Sr. in HS, one a Jr. in college and one a recent college grad or maybe the young teen I mentor (and who calls me grandma)on the Indian Reservation in South Dakota… or maybe… so many wild and wonderful women out there!

    Thank you for doing this!

My random act of kindness is playing at the website freerice.com. You’re given vocabulary words, and for every word you get right 10 grains of rice are given to the United Nations to end hunger. It’s fun, and I figure you can’t lose; not only do you donate food when you’re right, when you’re wrong they tell you the right answer, so you learn a new word!

I’m a mom who is stressed, so I know exactly what I would do if I won. I would carry it in my purse and the first frazzled, stressed out looking mom I saw I would give it to. :)
