Update: This contest is now closed, check back Monday for a new Random act of Bling
“Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless.” ~ Mother Teresa
With the holidays coming up, there are so many things to focus on. There are presents to buy & Martha Stewart to imitate. This adds up to a lot of stress & general busyness. It’s so easy to get caught up in things that don’t really matter, I know because I do that myself on a weekly bases. Every week I give away a piece of jewelry called a Random Act of Bling. Hopefully, it reminds whoever receives it that they are special & that good things can happen to them. To enter the contest just read the rules & then leave a comment that follows the bolded line at the bottom of the post. The winner can either give away the jewelry or keep it. The comments that are left here are truly inspiring & always make me think.
The prize this week is a .50 tcw 3 stone modern genuine tanzanite ring set in sterling silver, size seven.
If you’ve already won, you can win again but you must give all but one of the pieces away at random. Winner is drawn using a random number generator at 6pm Mountain Time Friday.
Contestants should only enter once a week, be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. Please don’t sell the jewelry..
Comment/trackback/or link to a blog post should be about a random act of kindness or who you would give this piece of jewelry to & why.

Our friend, Pam, loaned us her 15 passenger van for a week while ours was down. She has 5 children and her hubby is in Iraq right now. They all smoosed into their extended cab pickup so we would be able to have a van to get to church, dentist, and dr. appts. we had last week.
What a blessing that was as we would have missed church and had to reschedule appts.
I would love to treat her to this little gem as a special suprise thank you. Her birthday is tomorrow 12/11 and her hubby isn’t here. I know she is going to be down a little.
blogged ya:

Oh, I would love to give this to my sister. She just had her 9th baby and needs some bling.

I would give this to my best friend in the whole world. She and her husband have been trying to conceive their first child for quite a long time now, and have run into so many problems. The next step is IVF. Her heart is just breaking because of all this and my heart is breaking for her(I have two beautiful children and I cannot imagine a life without them). I really think she deserves something lovely to help cheer her up. They’ve dumped so much money into all of this(to no avail) that she just doesn’t get to do nice things for herself anymore.

I would want to keep the first piece since I have never had a really beautiful ring. I would then give away any additional prizes, first of all to my grandaughter-in-law who is only 22, works very hard, and has three little daughters.

Soooo pretty! I would give this to my mom who turns 60 on Thursday
December 12, 2007 at 12:32 pm
It would be tough not to keep it because it is so beautiful! But if I didn’t keep it, I would give it to my best friend… she is a real trooper who has recently received some really bad news. She could certainly use the pick-me-up.
December 12, 2007 at 1:51 pm
I would give this to my sister, because purple is her favorite color. She has had some unexpected plumbing repairs needed on her house, and I hope the ring would cheer her up!
December 12, 2007 at 6:13 pm
I would give this ring to my sister because I want to get her a beautiful Christmas gift.
December 12, 2007 at 6:25 pm
I hope somewhere in your jewelry collection you have something for a very special lady who lost her mother. My heart breaks for this woman because she is so good. Her mothers name was Loretta, and her name is Phyllis. Phyllis loves teddy bears, but I think shes an angel. I would love to bring even the smallest ray of sunshine into her life. Thankyou.
December 12, 2007 at 6:45 pm
I would give this ring to my mother. She is getting her fourth divorce and has resigned herself to being alone forever. She is grieving, not so much her husband, but the closeness she won’t have in her life.
I can love on her, but I can’t fill that need.
I’m adding your random acts of bling to momsblogging tomorrow.

What a beautiful ring! I would give it to my grandmother who just recently lost her husband (my grandfather) of 55 years. Thanks for the opportunity to win such beautiful jewelry!
December 13, 2007 at 6:49 am
I would definitely give this ring to my aunt-in-law. She’s a single lady, so she doesn’t have kids to give her lots of Christmas gifts. It’s up to us nieces and nephews.
December 13, 2007 at 1:34 pm

It is hard to choose just one person I’d want to give it to. I often have that trouble, having too many people that need something or are people I care so much for and want to help. I’d want to give it to my sister, who had lost almost everything, and yet still managed to find God, find herself, and pulled herself together to carry on. I’d want to give it to my mother who never had anything, always does for others and has nothing to her name. I’d want to give it to a local church here, or mission, to help them raise money for the poor. But I wouldn’t keep it, as beautiful as it is, for I don’t generally wear jewelry unless it was given to me by my husband, children, or family, as I’m not a flashy person, especially when it comes to getting things for myself. I wear old clothes much past their time, I’m a plain jane and would prefer the ‘fuss’ be for my kids and their needs. I honestly don’t know which of the above I’d give it to, knowing how little I have to give this year for the holidays as far as gifts, but the thought sure is amazing, and I truly appreciate the chance, thank you
