Free Garnet & White Topaz Ring
7 January 2008
This contest is now closed. Just check the link in the sidebar for the latest contest which always starts on a Monday.
When we’re little kids we are told that we can do anything. As soon as we grow up, the world tries to prove us wrong. Somewhere along the way, many people either lose their dreams, or they dreams become more realistic. I started something called Random Acts of Bling, where I randomly give away jewelry. Hopefully, it will remind people that good things can happen to them. The winner can either keep the jewelry if it makes them feel special, or they can pass it on to someone else. To enter the contest, just read the rules & leave a comment/trackback/link to a blog post with who you would this ring to or why, or a reason why humanity is good.
This week’s prize is a garnet & sterling silver ring in a size seven. The round garnet is surrounded by white topaz. Garnet is the birthstone for January.
One entry per person per week.
Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. Winner will be chosen by a random number generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.
Contestants should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. If you’ve already won a Random Act of Bling, you can win again, but please give the jewelry away at random.
Comments should be about a random act of kindness or who you would give this jewelry to & why.
If you want to link or stumble this post it would be appreciated but is not required.

I would give the ring to my friend and co-worker, ‘Cookie’. She is my also my son’s teacher. She has been so good to him, that I would gladly give her this to let her know how special she is to our family. It would be perfect since her birthday is in January, too!

I would save this for someone special. Haven’t found them yet but it would be really cool to just suddenly whip out a ring and be like, “haha! i’ve been saving this for you!”
Or I would save it for the future, if I ever have a daughter, i’ll give it to her.

My random act of bling involves a stranger that made someone feel great. A person I know was having a terrible time. Her father had just passed away and she was sick with the flu, and to top it all off her daughter was being put in the hospital with pneumonia. Well she had written about all her trouble on a blog she had, and someone who read it sent her a $25.00 gift certificate for a place that you could use it to spend wherever you wanted on the web. They sent it to her on her e-mail and had a e-mail program that killed their e-mail address, so they took no credit or praise for doing it, Just did it to make her feel good. The only rule was it had to be used on her and for something she wanted and nothing she needed, I thought this was an amazing act of humanity, and shows we arnt that bad and mean after all

I’d give it to a friend of mine who loves jewelry

several people come to mind when I think of who I’d like to give this ring to…one is a friend who needs a lot of encouragement right now. She loves jewelry, but financially she’s struggling and wouldn’t ever spend money on herself. Another is my sister who’s going through many trials right now and needs to believe that she is special and loved. Another is a friend who just lost her husband to cancer…I don’t think there’s anyone giving her jewelry at this time, and that would be a great reminder to let her know that the Lord is her husband Who loves her and He hasn’t left her.
I’ll just have to ask the Lord who He’d like me to give it to…and that’s who will receive this gift.

I would give the ring to my neighbor across the street. She seems so lonely and never leaves her house. I have waved but she does not. I would love to surprize her.

I would give this to my younger sister. She is 26 with epilepsy and she needs a little random sparkle in her life right about now.

I would give this ring to an acquaintance that gave me an envelope with $1000 in it to help me through a really hard time. When I tried to pay her back 6 months later, she ripped up my check and said, “The fact that you tried to pay me back affirms the type of person I believed you to be and that’s why I gave you the money.” No one had ever done anything like that for me before.

this beautiful ring would certainly go to my wife. She is usually the “giver” and it would be nice for her to “receive” something as beautiful as this
