Free Amethyst & Marcasite Ring

I’m trying to make the world a better place by making it sparkle. Every week I hold a contest called Random Acts of Bling where I give away a piece of jewelry at random. The winner can either keep the jewelry for themselves, or pass it on to someone else. Either way, I hope it reminds the person that they are special & that good things happen. To enter the contest just read the rules & leave a comment on this post with a random act of kindness, or who you would give this jewelry to & why.
This week’s prize is a sterling silver, marcasite & amethyst ring in size 7. The 5mm round amethyst is surronded by a marcasite border in a flower design. This is the birthstone for February.
THE RULES:
One entry per person per week.
Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. Winner will be chosen by a random number generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.
Contestants should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. I won’t sell or abuse your mailing address. If you’ve already won a Random Act of Bling, you can win again, but please give the jewelry away at random.

I’m the first to comment! How exciting.. I was sitting here and trying to think of someone who I know whose birthday is in February and I can’t think of anyone (lots of March birthdays in my family… not so many February). I think I might just keep the ring for myself. It is really beautiful.
In random acts of kindness, since this Valentine’s Day week, I’m going to try and be extra kind to my students and show them how much they are appreciated and valued. I am also going to be extra nice to my husband all week… that means biting my tongue when he does something that annoys me and praising him when he does something that I appreciate!

I would love to win this for my sister who just had her first baby (a GIRL!!!!) last week…It would be so neat for her to have her little one’s birthstone to wear! And it could be something she passed down to her daughter one day…How neat! Thanks for the chance to win!

My mom’s birthday is on the 17th of this month. Amethyst is her birthstone, but I am ashamed to admit that I would give it to someone else. I would give this lovely ring to my daughter. She turns 19 in March. Although, it is not her birthstone, she loves everything purple. PLUS she LOVES marcasite jewelry! She has always said that I should have had her 2 weeks earlier just for the birthstone!

I’ve been trying to win something for my friend this last month because her birthday’s the 19th. BUT - turns out she has been the one to do a random act of kindness for me! My car got sideswiped and I had to get the mirror fixed. I decided to get all the dents in it fixed at the same time and have the car repainted (it’s only 4 years old, but it’s a mess because I live in the city). My friend knew I would be stuck for a ride to work while my car was in the shop, and so she offered to get me to work each day! Wait — there’s more. She has to reserve a car (she belongs to a car sharing club — can I say the name? — which, of course, I’ll pay for) each morning and night AND get up at 7:00 (she works nights) to do it. My boss said I could work at home except the days clients come in, but I just thought this was too great since the car will be in the shop 3 days, or maybe even 4. She definitely deserves some bling!

I would give this to my mother because she is beautiful just like this ring is. She has done so much for me and I’ve never had the money to really give her something so nice. She deserves this because she is truely the greatest person in the world and through out my life has always sparkled like this stone even when she’s down. The ring would be a beauty on her finger, plus she loves amethyst.

I would give this to myself. It is so pretty! Of course I will have it on for all of two minutes before my daughter claims it for herself so I would probably just hide it and give it to her for her bday in a few weeks

Every year my friend gets that winter depression. I would give it to her to put a little sparkle in her day. Purple is her favorite color and she loves jewelry, it always perks her up.

Well I hate to be rude, but my birthday was Saturday so I’d give it to myself. As for the random act of kindness I recently helped someone out that was stranded in the parking lot. I gave her a jump with jumper cables she had left her lights on all day. Also last Thursday a couple collegues and I went to a coference and I offered to drive. Everyone hates to drive to these things and I offered to come by and pick everyone up and drive for us.

Im doing this for my mother in law who just lost her mother. she cared for her mother without fail every day for 3 years. and during the last year it was discovered that she had a crushed disc in her spine. she has been so depressed i figure it might lift her spirits alittle.

That ring is gorgeous! I would love to win that to give to my Mom. She’s graduating from college this semester after twenty some odd years. She would love it, and I can think of no person more deserving!

Indeed this ring is unique. It would be a wonderful Valentine’s present to myself, however, the most deserving person would be the nurse who is caring for my very ill neighbor.
