Free Amethyst Flower Earrings
25 February 2008
Update: This contest is now closed check back on Monday for a new contest.
It’s easy to become annoyed & disillusioned with people. I know because I have about 1,000 pet peeves that just grate on my nerves. Whenever I turn on the news, it seems like someone is doing something that just makes me think that humanity has sunk to a new low. Every week, I give away a piece of jewelry at random to hopefully make someone feel special. I call this Random Acts of Bling. The winner can either keep the jewelry or give it away. To enter the contest, just leave a comment with who you would give this jewelry to & why, or a random act of kindness. Every week, I’m inspired by the generosity of the commenters & am reminded that there are a lot of people out there who care & want to make a difference.
The prize this week are new .925 sterling silver earrings. These are three stone earrings in amethyst which is February’s birthstone. The total carat weight is 1.83 & they are 1/2″ from top to bottom.
THE RULES:
One entry per person per week.
Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. Winner will be chosen by a random number generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.
Contestants should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. I won’t sell or abuse your mailing address. If you’ve already won a Random Act of Bling, you can win again, but please give the jewelry away at random.
If you want to link or stumble this post it would be appreciated but is not required.
Comment/trackback/link should be about a random act of kindness or who you would give this jewelry to & why.

My youngest of four children is my daughter Emersyn and she just had her 4th birthday. As a person for whom purple has always been my favorite color, I was pleased as punch to have a little girl in February! I would give these earrings to her for when she gets her ears pierced and can have a nice and lovely pair of earrings in her birthstone to look forward to wearing!

These are really pretty. I would give them to my daughter as her favorite color is purple and she would wear them all the time.

This is a kooky comment, but if I won them I think I’d try to give them to the last commenter, Shay, because (1) 31 is a hard birthday for women. Often we think the big decade numbers hurt the worst, but a lot of women try not to make a big fuss over these milestones — and then suffer a delayed effect the next year. That happened to me; and (2) in her great two-volume set “Astrology for Women” and “New Astrology for Women” Jessica Adams notes that the planet Saturn makes a complete revolution in our charts every 28 years. Saturn rules big, humongous life changes. I went to (a private) college in my 28th year — a big change for a woman who’s lived most of her life in poverty. Because they are so big, these changes often take several years to complete (it took me 5-1/2 years to finish my degree because of illness). And if these changes AREN’T undertaken, the hangover effect can be brutal. Either way, I believe Shay may, indeed, need cheering up.

I think those are beautiful! I might keep them for myself… though I think my sister would probably love them as well.

I would give these to my friend Becky because she has been going through a tough time lately and could use a random act of kindness!

Geeze, the neighbor next store will have knee surgury tomorrow…that’s not so bad, compared to this afternoon when her hubby called from Canada (he’s on a business trip)to ask her for a divorce. What a wimp! Indeed she qualifies for this random act of bling!

My daughter is taking me on a trip with her family and I would love to give these to her as a late bday gift since she just had a bday two weeks ago and it is her birthstone

Please give these earrings to the lady who has a bum knee and a bum husband! She could really use a lift.
