Green Quartz Pendant Contest
12 May 2008
Update: This contest is now closed check back on Monday for a new contest!
It’s snowing. In May. No this doesn’t have anything to do with Random Acts of Bling. I guess I was a little discouraged when I opened the curtains this morning. If something as little as snow can make me unhappy then something as little as jewelry can hopefully brighten someone else’s day. The winner can either keep the jewelry or give it away. To enter the contest just read the rules & leave a comment with a reason why humanity doesn’t suck or who you would give this necklace to & why.
The Prize: I really would’ve loved to give away May’s birthstone which is an emerald but that just wasn’t going to happen. Instead, I have a green quartz 2″ pendant in sterling silver with a 16″ sterling silver chain.
The Rules:
One entry per person per week.
Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. Winner will be chosen by a random number generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.
Contestants should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. I won’t sell or abuse your mailing address. If you’ve already won a Random Act of Bling, you can win again, but please give the jewelry away at random.
If you want to link or stumble this post it would be appreciated but is not required.
Comment/trackback/link should be about a random act of kindness or who you would give this jewelry to & why.

Yesterday was such a wonderful Mother’s Day for my family and me! Our oldest son is home from college and my Godchild (niece) hosted a special late afternoon get together for my sister (her mom), my brother-in-law, our 90 year old dad and my two sons, my husband and me! It was so nice to have a tasty meal with our loved ones. I would give this beautiful green necklace to Andrea for making my Mother’s Day extra-special. She is also taking me to lunch on Wednesday for my Mother’s Day gift! Please enter me in your drawing. Thanks,Cindi ~ Sorry about the snow.

I really want to give this to my bank teller. She just lost her mother & loves green. I’ve been banking there a long time, so I feel like I know her well. Very pretty piece this week

I think 2 things that show that humanity doesn’t suck can be found right here on your page. 1. you are giving away random bling to help people have a good day 2.the winner of that last giveaway giving it to another entrant to give it to someone who the winner has never met just because she wanted someone to feel happy. The stuff that happens on this website makes me feel unexpectedly warm and fuzzy. =D

Humanity doesn’t suck because……um…..hmm…know theres gotta be something…..hmmm… Got one!!! Because when nature strikes (even worse then snow, not a big fan of the stuff myself)we get to see all the great stories about how people come together and donate whatever they have (even when they don’t have much)and bring it or send it those that have lost everything! That always helps me realize we do have our good points.
If I am chosen, I will give it to my daughter as a token of my love!

What do you mean that you are not giving away an emerald?
My youngest daughter turns 18 on May 29th. She would just love this! Even if it is not an emerald

Our house has mice… a lot of mice… and yet I simply refuse to allow my husband to set any sort of traps but the humane kind. This morning I woke up to four trapped, frightened little mice. I walked all of them down our country road a ways and then cooed to each of them as I set them free. Of course to them I’m a horrible, scary huge creature. But at least I didn’t kill them.
The world is very much balanced… we tend to hear the negatives in the world because that is what sells. No one will pay for a paper that says “Everything the same as yesterday.” (Most people won’t buy a paper!). But the truth is in every disaster there are stories of human compassion. In every good deed there’s a tiny personal interest. Yin and yang, so to speak.
The necklace is beautiful… I’m not sure who I would give it to. Maybe our office assistant who is due with a baby and could probably use a pick-me-up (plus she does so much work!).

the man that changed my flat tire today is proof that humanity doesn’t suck! he was my hero today.

Humanity doesn’t suck… we can be confused, ignorant, messed up, misguided - but under all the gunk, you can often find unexpected sapphires in the mud - it just takes a little digging.

Humanity doesn’t stink because even when people are being treated horrible some people rise above it share what little they have with others.
