This morning I woke up to four trapped, frightened little mice. I walked all of them down our country road a ways and then cooed to each of them as I set them free. Of course to them I'm a horrible, scary huge creature. But at least I didn't kill them. The world is very much balanced... we tend to hear the negatives in the world because that is what sells. No one will pay for a paper that says "Everything the same as yesterday." (Most people won't buy a paper!). But the truth is in every disaster there are stories of human compassion. In every good deed there's a tiny personal interest. Yin and yang, so to speak. The necklace is beautiful... I'm not sure who I would give it to. Maybe our office assistant who is due with a baby and could probably use a pick-me-up (plus she does so much work!).
