Free Butterfly Ring
30 June 2008
Update: This contest is now closed. Thanks to all those who entered. A new contest will start on Monday.
Butterflies can symbolize hope. They start out as a weird caterpillar thing that I can only assume is ugly. (I’ve never seen one.) After much growth & struggle they turn into a butterfly. Every week I give away jewelry at random to try & remind people that they are special even if life is difficult at that particular moment. The winner can either keep the jewelry or give it away. To enter the contest, just read the rules & then leave a comment/trackback/link to a blog post with a random act of kindness or who you would give this to & why.
The prize this week is a sterling silver filigree butterfly ring in a size 10.
The Rules:
One entry per person per week.
Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. Winner will be chosen by a random number generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.
Contestants should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. I won’t sell or abuse your mailing address. If you’ve already won a Random Act of Bling, you can win again, but please give the jewelry away at random.
If you want to link or stumble this post it would be appreciated but is not required.
Comment/trackback/link should be about a random act of kindness or who you would give this jewelry to & why.

This is wonderful, it’s the perfect size for my finger. I just started losing weight and I have lost 6 pounds and feel like I’ve lost 1000, I’d love something like this to help me feel even better! I never buy jewelry for myself, so it’s a good compromise

Thanks so much for the opportunity. I’d give it to my sister.

My Dad passed away 3 years ago and my Sister and I both see yellow butterflies everywhere. It is a little fluttering of comfort. I would give the ring to her in honor of our Dad.

We released 6 painted lady butterflies on June 21st at a local garden center. We went to a butterfly conservatory http://www.magicwings.com and bought a container with 7 caterpillars (yes sorry to say 1 didn’t make it) and watched as they went from caterpillar to butterfly. When my daughter and her friend opened the “house” they must have been happy, because most of them landed on flowers ASAP!
If my name is chose I would like it to go to Suzanne. (Keep up the great job! Those pounds will come off quickly and easily darlin, I have faith!!)

…”I know I gotta let her go, but I’ll always remember
every hug in the morning and butterfly kisses”- lyrics from a song that reminds me of a child I fostered long ago. She’s all grown up now, but fate and distance has not enabled us to ever meet again in person. She would be most surprised to receive this ring in the mail-a symbol of the concern and love that we will always have for her.
