Free Onyx Earring Giveaway

28 July 2008

Update:  This contest is now closed.  A new contest will start on Monday.  Thanks to everyone who entered.

It can be difficult & expensive to come up with new random acts of kindness. However, if you really want to help someone, you will find a way. On weeks when I’m too stressed out to do a big act of kindness, I try something smaller like smiling. It makes me feel better & it usually makes whoever I’m around feel better.

Every week I give away a piece of jewelry at random to brighten someone’s day. The winner can keep the jewelry or give it away. To enter the contest just read the rules & then leave a comment with a random act of kindness or who you would give this to & why.

The prize this week are a pair of sterling silver & onyx earrings.

The Rules:
One entry per person per week.

Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. Winner will be chosen by a random number generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.

Contestants should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. I won’t sell or abuse your mailing address. If you’ve already won a Random Act of Bling, you can win again, but please give the jewelry away at random.

If you want to link or stumble this post it would be appreciated but is not required.

Comment/trackback/link should be about a random act of kindness or who you would give this jewelry to & why.

Just the other day, my daughter was reistering for classes and I was waiting in the parking lot of the college. I watched as this older gentleman walked around handing out American flags to everyone. He was so cute. He was smiling and enjoying his act of kindness. He ran out of flags and walked back to his car. Apparently to get more flags. He got to his trunk and couldn’t find his keys. He kept walking around the car looking through the windows and I realized that he must have locked them inside. I went up to him and asked if he needed to use my phone, in case he had spare keys at home. He didn’t, so I called AAA since I do have a membership that I never have had to use. Fortunately for both of us, they only took about 1/2 hour. My so called act of kindness was not really anything spectacular but he really appreciated it. And I was happy to help. When they got his car open, he gave me a flag, he gave one to the aaa guy, then continued handing them out around the school.

I think that this is a fantastic promotion. I enter sweeps all the time and this is the first that I have ever seen anyting given away by someone who wants nothing more than to make someones’ day. I am not entering for the earrings although they are very beautiful, because just the fact that someone is actually caring about another without wanting anything in return is enough for me. Thanks for making my day.

I won the ruby earrings in the last giveaway. If I am chosen at random to win this giveaway, what I want you to do is select another winner from your posters to give the earrings to. That way, the recipient doesn’t feel obliged to re-gift them and we BOTH can do a random act of bling!! :)

I’d love to give this to my best friend because she’s been a rock for me during this really hard time of my life. I just want to give her a small token of appreciation for her kindness.

I’d love to win these earrings and give them to my beautiful daughter. She’s had a hard life and it sometimes gets to her. These earrings are elegant and would certainly cheer her up! Thank you and God bless!

My random act of kindness is that I have been praying for someone I really don’t care for. This has softened my feelings towards her.

There are days when I feel down too…however, I’ve learned a simple secret. When making eye contact with a stranger, especially when that person doesn’t look particularly happy either, smile at them! Most times they will return your smile, This small but powerful act of kindness…which suprises, also speaks silently, “I hope you have a good, or better day.” Try it.
    Peace
