Would you buy your wedding dress off of craigslist?

This isn’t really a burning question seeing as I’m not engaged. However, I recently discovered craigslist. Yes, I know that I’m about a decade too late. I seem to spend all of my time at craigslist browsing, seeing what people are willing to give up.

A lot of people seem to sell their wedding dresses, which is fine. I can understand that a newly wed might need the money or closet space. Personally I’d trade a dress that I’d never wear again for a LCD TV. However, I’m shocked at the prices. Usually they are just like $50 off of retail prices. Plus, you probably have to have the dress dry cleaned & you really don’t have your choice of styles or sizes. I would consider buying or renting off of craigslist if it was actually a good deal, but it just doesn’t seem to be the case.

How to make a pop tab wristband

sodatab.jpgI love jewelry, especially handmade jewelry. In a perfect world this would mean that I handmade jewelry. Unfortunately, I’m not crafty or strong enough to use pliers. I do try & keep up with what is going on in the crafting world.

With the green movement, I’ve been seeing a lot of jewelry made out of recycled materials. I’ve fallen in love with the idea of a pop tab bracelet. I wouldn’t even have to use pliers. These would make great gifts, or a craft project for teens. All that you need are a pair of headphones to be truly rock & roll. The only problem is that I don’t drink pop. If I do, it comes from a bottle. I’ve seen the same technique applied to making a purse & even a flapper dress. Some people must drink a lot of soda.

Wedding ring curse

In my craigslist browsing, I’ve come across some really stellar diamond rings. Granted, I’m not planning on proposing to anyone, but they are sparkly & I like sparkly things. Most of the rings have sad stories behind them from broken or unaccepted engagements. Personally, if I was buying an engagement ring I’d be sure that it had a return policy.

It makes me more than a little sad to see pages & pages of unwanted rings. It doesn’t seem like anyone buys them. I guess that most brides want their own brand new ring. I don’t usually believe in curses, but I’d be hesitant to wear someone else’s ring if it had a sad story behind it. Do you believe in the wedding ring curse?
