Jerry Lewis at the Oscars last night said while he was receiving a Humanitarian Award:
For most of my life, I’ve thought that doing good for someone didn’t mean you would receive commendation for that act of kindness – at least until now
I sat there thinking, but you’re Jerry Lewis, everyone knows how you host all those telethons. It really drove home to me the fact that most of us wonder if we are really doing any good or if we really even matter in the bigger scheme of things. This is why I give away jewelry at random every week, because I believe in people & what they can do. The winner can either keep the jewelry or pass it on to someone else. The prize this week is a 70 carat amethyst cabochon bracelet set in sterling silver. It’s a little over 7″.
