Jerry Lewis at the Oscars last night said while he was receiving a Humanitarian Award:
For most of my life, I’ve thought that doing good for someone didn’t mean you would receive commendation for that act of kindness – at least until now
I sat there thinking, but you’re Jerry Lewis, everyone knows how you host all those telethons. It really drove home to me the fact that most of us wonder if we are really doing any good or if we really even matter in the bigger scheme of things. This is why I give away jewelry at random every week, because I believe in people & what they can do. The winner can either keep the jewelry or pass it on to someone else. To enter the contest leave a comment with who you would give this to & why or a random act of kindness.
The prize this week is a 70 carat amethyst cabochon bracelet set in sterling silver. It’s a little over 7″.

I’d give this to my daughter dance teacher. She has been doing free classes so our girls can cheer at a Pistons game next month. I want to do something special for her!

This is such a wonderful idea. I enjoy brightening up someone’s day with a ‘just because’. There are several people that come to mind that I’d like to give this to, but there is a very special lady who has been a mom figure for me that stands out the most. She does so much for others and it would be a privelage to do something nice for her for a change.

I might have to keep this one b/c I love amethyst but actually would give t my stepdaughter who is an awesome big sister to the babies & helps out alot & deserves some thing special.

I would take it to our local shelter and ask them to find it a home with a woman who would really love it and wear it (unlike me and my irrational dislike of bracelets on my wrists).
