In Tori Spelling’s book Stori Telling she recounted how being nice paid off. She had a bit part in a movie & had to go to a photo shoot with the other, more famous actresses. She was the last one to be shot & the photographer was tired. He asked her what her demands were. The other actresses had been complaining all day. She just said something like she was happy to be there. They ended up putting her on the cover of the magazine when she just was supposed to have a smaller photograph on the inside. I really don’t believe that nice guys finish last.
Every week I run a contest where a random person gets pretty jewelry, kind of as a reward for all the nice things that they do that never get recognized. The winner can keep the jewelry or give it away to someone else. All you have to do to enter the contest is read the rules & then leave a comment about who you would give this to & why.
The prize this week are painted glass earrings set in sterling silver. I usually try to stick to genuine gemstones, but these just reminded me so much of summer & the beach I couldn’t resist.
The Rules:
Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. Winner will be chosen by a random number
generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.Contestants should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. I won’t sell or abuse your
mailing address. If you’ve already won a Random Act of Bling, you can win again, but please give the jewelry away at random.
Please leave a valid e-mail address, this is how I will contact you if you win. The subject line of the email will say something like
“Random Acts of Bling: You Won” I’ll also announce the winner in a blog post. If I can’t reach you then I might
have to relist your prize. If you want to link or stumble this post it would be appreciated but is not required.
Comment/trackback/link should be about a random act of kindness or who you would give this jewelry to & why.

My best friend who is ten years older than me,
recently had a slight stroke! I received an email from our mutual friend on last Tuesday evening. As I sat reading the email, tears streamed down my face! Things can change so quickly. Marty is home now with a slightly slurred speech. They are trying to figure whey she got a clot that caused her minor stroke.
I would love to surprise her with these lovely
summer looking earrings. Many thanks, Cindi

I’d give it away to a girl from home that I know. I’m in college at the moment, and so we only get a change to talk via text message and e-mail – lately she’s just been really sad. I think she’s forgotten she’s a special, really, and nothing I say seems to remind her. Anyways, that’s what I’d do with these earrings. = )
