Update: This contest is now closed but a new one starts on Monday!
Last week I was at a garage sale and started talking to the lady in charge. We really had nothing in common, she was married, older, had kids. I think we both just needed someone to listen so we ended up talking for three hours & became good friends. It made me think about all of the other people I could’ve learned from that I just passed over. She really brightened my day & lent me encouragement.
I try to do the same thing every week by giving away a piece of jewelry at random. The winner can keep it or give it away to someone else. To enter the contest read the rules & leave a comment with who you would give this to & why or a random act of kindness.
The prize this week is a unisex sterling & genuine garnet band ring in a size ten. The front of the band is three sided instead of round.
The Rules:
Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. Winner will be chosen by a random number generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.
Contestants should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. I won’t sell or abuse your mailing address.
If you’ve already won a Random Act of Bling, you can win again, but please give the jewelry away at random.
Please leave a valid e-mail address, this is how I will contact you if you win. The subject line of the email will say something like “Random Acts of Bling: You Won” I’ll also announce the winner in a blog post. If I can’t reach you then I might have to relist your prize.
If you want to link or stumble this post it would be appreciated but is not required.
Comment/trackback/link should be about a random act of kindness or who you would give this jewelry to & why.

I would give this ring to my husband. He is selfless, and hardly every buys anything for himself. The only piece of jewelry he owns is his wedding ring, and it was a Wal-mart special. He really deserves it.

I would give this to my son as since my father passed away he has really stepped up to the plate and taken care of our family.

i got new neighbors on my little dirt road, they built this huge mansion that doesn’t fit the neighborhood at all, and I was mad at them for 11 months now for all the noise and destruction they have caused. I met them today, and i told them what had been going on, and they TRULY were sorry, they offered to buy a few replacement trees for me because of the trees they ripped up ( on my property) so that they could fit their huge box trucks down this tiny pot-hole road. i just thought it was very kind of them to offer to help me out, and i don’t blame them for all the noise anymore, it just made me realize: don’t judge a book by its cover.

I would give this to my aunt. My uncle just found out he has cancer, and they’ve both been having a rough time. It’d be something nice to cheer her up with.

I would surprise my grandmother with it — I know she’d love it (and she’d never expect it; she always tells us not to give her things).

I would give it to my daughter for her jewelry box
She has a few pieces already and I can’t wait until she is older!

That is fun. I think I would give it to my cousin. She just had a baby, but he’s still in the hospital.

What an awesome ring you’ve posted this week. This would make a great father’s day gift. i know that my sister would love it as well. what a great idea posting a unisex ring. this gives me the option of giving it to either of them. what a blessing and a wonderful, priceless gift.
