I’m one of the few single people I know who loves Valentine’s Day. Whether I’m in a relationship or not I usually buy myself a piece of jewelry. I try to look my best too so I feel good by wearing the jewelry and my favorite outfit. However, pretty soon the routine will involve some kind of anti aging product but I’m ok with that.
That way at least I know that I’m getting something I want. Since money is tight this year I decided instead that I was going to take the whole day off work instead. Since Valentine’s day is on a Sunday it’s not as impactful as it might of been, but still I’m a freelancer I don’t get that many days of work. I’ve had terrible Valentine’s Days in relationships and wonderful ones alone or with my family or friends just be reframing what the day should mean.
