Tonight I have to do a little work from home. I work on a research study and I have to call and follow up with participants. This is actually much harder than you think that it would be. With everyone having caller id now a days, it is tough to get in touch with someone to confirm an appointment. Especially if you are calling to reschedule if they have missed an appointment. I think that there is some kind of avoidance and embarrassment with missing an appointment. I wish that they would know that I am not calling to get on to them or charge them, but really just want to reschedule with them! It is nice that I can make these phone calls from home. I usually will watch a show that I like on Direct Star TV. During the commercials, I will make a call or two. It is kind of a nice way to break up the job and makes me feel like I’m really not doing work at home. It definitely beats having to go into the office to call the participants, that’s for sure!
