The haircut that could’ve been

katvond.jpg

I went to get my haircut yesterday. I was in the mood for a total makeover. I wanted to start wearing boots & Audemars Piguet watches. I had really long hair & I wanted a spiky haircut like Kat Von D. It’s not like I would have had to get tattoos on my face, or even highlights. I was just worried that it was too much upkeep & that I didn’t have the confidence.  I was especially afraid that it would turn out like a female mullet or as I call is a femullet.

Instead, I lost my nerve. Somehow, it was less frightening to just cut five inches off my hair so I looked like Bonnie Hunt. I know that shoulder length hair is supposedly the most flattering on the most people. However, it’s unlikely that my hair will ever be that long again. I wish I would’ve had the guts to do it. What haircut do you wish you would’ve gotten?

How a princess handles stress

I’ve been extremely stressed out lately & considering changing professions. I don’t know exactly what I want to be or what my health can handle, which just adds to the stress. I keep looking for a job opening for the Princess of Canada, but nothing has come up yet. I still have my fingers crossed.

I’m struggling with how to handle the situation gracefully. My inclination is to panic & freak out. This is what I’ve always done. However, I want to handle the situation with style. I want to keep everyone around me calm. To paraphrase an episode of Gilmore Girls “What would those ladies in black & white movies who are always walking down staircases do?” Faint probably.

Fashion Advice from Tim Gunn

At least I think that I heard this on “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style”. I will at least pretend that’s where I heard it because I love Tim Gunn & it’s great advice so he should get credit for it. Anyways, someone said that you can usually tell your personal style from the thing that you bought the last. This means that the item, whatever it is, will be current. It also won’t have any sentimental attachment to it so it’s truthful.

Ok so he only said the part about finding your personal style by looking at what you bought last. The rest was all me, but still it’s good advice if I do say so myself. I was trying to remember what I bought last. I think it was scarves for my hair . So apparently my personal style is Rhoda from “Mary Tyler Moore”. I’m ok with that.
