It takes a little planning

Getting a tattoo is one of the biggest commitments anyone can make. We’ve all seen pictures of tattoos gone horribly wrong. I always wonder “What were they thinking?” Truthfully, they probably weren’t thinking, which is the problem. Such a big commitment should be planned out almost the way you would plan a wedding.

I was looking at bullseyetattoos.com & I think it’s a really good idea to print out the exact design you want to have tattooed. This way you can look at the design for a few days & make sure that it’s something that you will love for the rest of your life. This site has everything from Butterfly Tattoos, dragons, & even aztec designs. I really like that you can search the site by artist. They even have line art available. This means that the tattoo artist won’t have to redraw your design. This might even save you money on your tattoo. My point is that tattoos can be very beautiful if they are done correctly. It just takes a little planning.

ELF: Eyes, Lips, Face

I heard about a high end brand of makeup called “ELF” or eyeslipsface.com that was only $1. It was featured on Oprah & in several fashion magazines. Of course, I had to give this a shot, so I ordered about 40 different items from their website.

I think the “high end” part stems from the fact that there were rumors floating around that this was going to be the makeup line for department stores in the mall. The store varies depending on the rumor. It sure would be nice to buy makeup for $1 in the mall. This is the line that Target sells. If I would have known that I would have just bought it at Target.

So I ordered tons of makeup & received a package in a timely manner. However, a few items weren’t included because they were out of stock . Instead, I got a refund on my credit card. Here was my experience with the products:

  • Bronzer: This was the first bronzer I’ve seen that is actually a little metallic. I felt like I was a bit too shiny, like an Emmy statue, so I probably won’t use this much.
  • Face powder: I got one of the lighter colors & it was much too orange, but that might have been my fault for choosing the wrong color.
  • Mascara & eyeliner: I don’t know which of these is the culprit. However, a few minutes after putting this on, I looked in the mirror. My eyes must have gotten teary over one of those darn hallmark commercials because I had black rivers running down my face, which wasn’t the look that I was going for. The mascara was two sided so there were choices for both waterproof & non waterproof but I haven’t been brave enough to use this again.
  • Eyeshadows: ELF had a great selection of colors at a fantastic price. The only downside is that the eyeshadows were a little more difficult to get off than my usual makeup. I’ve never heard of long lasting eyeshadow before, but this might be it.
  • Various Brushes: To me this is the best deal at ELF, you can get really great brushes really inexpensively.

Overall, I would probably buy eyeshadows & brushes from ELF again. I thought that their site was really easy to use & I loved the makeup tips. I would probably just go through Target next time I shop. It was fun to just get a big box of makeup & be able to experiment, it was like being 12 years old again & really brought the fun back into wearing cosmetics.

A princess needs to know how to dance

I think that a person can be beautiful no matter their body type. Clothes, a good haircut, & lots of bling can really help any woman feel like a princess. However, this summer I’ve really been focused on getting into better shape so I’ll have more self confidence. Plus, it’s just a good habit to get into.

As such, I’ve been buying a lot of workout DVDs. I find that this is a lot easier than going to the gym. I never wake up early enough to watch the fitness shows on TV. I’ve easily bought over ten DVDs trying to find a fitness workout that is right for me. I have several of the bootcamp videos. I love them because they are fun, they don’t feel like working out. The one thing that I really want to learn is how to Salsa.

It’s so easy to Learn Dance BootCamp. It doesn’t feel like working out. This means that I will exercise a lot more & I’ll enjoy it more. It’s a great way of “tricking” myself into getting fit. I was looking at Salsabootcamp & it seems to be exactly what I was looking for. It’s an online dance school. The course was sold out months ago, but it’s now open to new students. This means that you will be able to watch thousands of videos online as well as receive them in the mail. You get two DVD’s just for signing up. They cover all the social nightclub dances from the cha cha on. It will take you from beginner to dancer.

I admit that I get a little bored doing the same video everyday so this would definitely remedy that problem. They are constantly adding new content as well. They even have a 3-Day free trial that I will be trying out. This is a lifestyle change instead of a diet. I think that I could make this kind of change long term. A princess has to know how to dance after all.
