The haircut that could’ve been

katvond.jpg

I went to get my haircut yesterday. I was in the mood for a total makeover. I wanted to start wearing boots & Audemars Piguet watches. I had really long hair & I wanted a spiky haircut like Kat Von D. It’s not like I would have had to get tattoos on my face, or even highlights. I was just worried that it was too much upkeep & that I didn’t have the confidence.  I was especially afraid that it would turn out like a female mullet or as I call is a femullet.

Instead, I lost my nerve. Somehow, it was less frightening to just cut five inches off my hair so I looked like Bonnie Hunt. I know that shoulder length hair is supposedly the most flattering on the most people. However, it’s unlikely that my hair will ever be that long again. I wish I would’ve had the guts to do it. What haircut do you wish you would’ve gotten?

When did vintage become expensive?

Last week on the Rachel Zoe Project, Rachel said to a reporter something like that she only wears vintage clothes, or she only loves vintage clothes, or something like that. I’m surprised that she can find anything vintage to fit her, she’s so tiny. Personally I would love to wear clothes that were made before size 0 came into existence. Granted, it might not hurt to look at Lipozene reviews, but I don’t think a size 6-8 is huge.

I was shocked to learn how much Rachel Zoe spends on her vintage clothes. I guess she refers to them as a collection. It’s understandable seeing that it’s vintage & a designer outfit. However, I’d have trouble spending more on clothes than a car payment. I thought that the allure of vintage clothing was that it is cheaper.

The Rachel Zoe Project

I was a little put off by The Rachel Zoe Project being called a docudrama. The show follows a celebrity stylist & her team. Comedy? Maybe. The term docudrama should be used for a show that follows a Chicago accident attorney, not a stylist. Well, that’s what I thought until I actually saw the show.

I thought that Rachel Zoe had the best job in the entire world. Who wouldn’t want to play with all of those clothes, shoes & jewelry. As it turns out the job is extremely stressful & complicated. Sometimes they don’t even have the right dress until the day of the event. That would freak me out of I was a celebrity & didn’t know what I was wearing to an awards show. It’s definitely something to consider as I watch the Emmys tonight. Who knew that getting dressed was so difficult?
