What it takes to stay thin in Hollywood

I sigh whenever I hear a Hollywood actress say that she in naturally thin. It always reminds me of an interview I read with Julianne Moore earlier this year. Julianne said that she is a naturally slender person, but she isn’t “Hollywood thin” She says that she diets all the time & is always hungry. She only eats cereal, yogurt & granola bars.

I’ve heard tales that Hollywood starlets used to have to appear perfect. Now, I think that it’s healthy that we see them as people. We see them go to alcohol rehab or go through divorces. I think that it’s progress when a celebrity admits that they need help & heads for a drug treatment center. Celebrities are so open about their lives but they all insist that they are naturally thin. Why can’t they just be honest? Then teenage girls who are sizes 6-8 wouldn’t feel the need to drop twenty pounds. I think people can be naturally thin, but I also think there is something wrong with an industry where eating is frowned upon.

Dear Lauren Conrad,

I can only assume you know that:

1. You have a hit TV show.

2. You have your own fashion line.

3. Drama follows you wherever you go.

4. Fashion magazines & tabloids stalk your every move. I assume you get lots of samples & promotional items from designers & makeup companies.

5. You are about to have a conversation with one of your best friends about how they are no longer your best friend.

Why, oh why wouldn’t you wear waterproof mascara? I’m trying to concentrate on the conversation between Lauren & Audrina but Lauren’s mascara baffles me. Fashion seems to be her life & yet she still has makeup running down her face. I guess I won’t feel too bad about it next time it happens to me.

The only bad part about Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style

That had to be the longest blog post title ever. It’s not my fault that the show’s name is 25 characters long. Remember when TV show titles were just simple like “FRIENDS”? I love Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, I love Tim. My only complaint is Veronica Webb’s outfits. She always looks like she’s on an 80′s version of Star Trek, or that she’s a superhero of some sort.

She advocated leggings for heaven’s sakes. Tim was right to burst out laughing about that. Then she looked like she was going to zap him with her laser eyes because of her vendetta to rid the world of “anti-leggings” people. For someone who is supposed to be a fashion icon, she sure wears a lot of shoulder pads. I would say that it was an 80′s style but I didn’t dress like that in the 80′s. It’s not even outdated, it’s just very much the wardrobe that a comic book hero comes to life would wear. Has anyone else noticed this?
