Free Patriotic Brooch Pattern

patrioticpin.jpg

Happy Fourth of July! I love today, the patriotism, all of the red, white & blue color coordination. If you don’t have any patriotic bling, you can easily make this safety pin craft, this is something even kids can do. All you need are eight safety pins, & a selection of red, white, & blue seed beads. The patter is as follows. B= blue R=Red W= White.

On the first three safety pins thread on 5 blues, 1w, 1r, 1w, 1r. Then close the pins.

On the next four safety pins thread on 1r, 1w, 1r, 1w, 1r, 1w, 1r, 1w, 1r then close the pins. Thread a safety pin through all of the other safety pins & you have a new patriotic brooch.

Mother’s Day Jewelry craft

Making clay jewelry is a great craft for mother’s day because:

  • It’s really inexpensive, I’ve even seen this clay at the dollar store.
  • It’s a project that even kids can do.
  • If you haven’t gotten a Mother’s Day present yet, it’s probably too late to have something shipped, so this is a way to still give your mom something unique.
  • It’s one of the few Martha Stewart projects that I can actually do.
  • Remember how much your mom loved those macaroni necklaces that you made in kindergarten?  Making her something will bring that expression back to her face because it shows her that you care enough to take time to create something.

Heartfelt

Mother’s Day is this Sunday & most places online can’t ship fast enough in order to have it arrive in time. This just leaves cards from the drugstore & trying to remember what you got your Mom last year so you don’t get her the same thing again. However, there is another alternative because I’m wicked awesome & willing to share my secrets. You can easily make your mom a pair of beaded earrings, you can even use pearls, & they won’t cost a lot of money. I know that right now you are thinking, “But I’m not crafty, or I’m not a jeweler’. This is a very easy project, & how do you know you aren’t a jeweler, have you ever tried to make jewelry? Plus the gift will be heartfelt, it’s like those macaroni necklaces they make in kindergarten, but a huge step up. Show your Mom that you really care this year.
