I don’t know about you but I miss getting mail. It seems like all I get is junk mail anymore. I don’t even get Netflix DVDs. I got a postcard and it totally made my day. Everything is digital now and I miss having permanent reminders of events that I can keep; even after they’re over. However, it also made me realize that I’m somewhat of a hypocrite in this instance. Sure, I love to get mail but how much do I actually send out? I think it’s because I am still single so I don’t have the usual Christmas cards or engagement announcements to send out.

However, the site InvitationBox.com has me rethinking this. I also like that there’s an etiquette section about timelines and including thank you notes. Since I’m out of practice it was good for me to read up on this again.

They have beautiful birthday invitations. Finally, an event worthy of an invitation that I can actually participate in! There are both kids and adult versions which I hadn’t seen before. It makes it feel a lot more like a celebration and I love having these mementos for a scrapbook later on. There are several different ways that you can shop for this. You can sort by milestone years. You can also look for a theme for a party. In fact, just by looking at the invitations it brought up all kinds of themes I’d never thought of. This makes it the perfect place to start the party planning process.

Of course, I chose to look at the princess theme invites. I like that the company recognizes that women of all ages have fantasies of being a princess. There were many invites for younger girls. However, there were also some for Sweet 16 parties. There were even a few elegant enough for a princess my age. I’m implementing a new golden rule: if you want to get more mail then send out more mail.
