I’m good at shopping. It’s my thing, a hobby if you will. I can spot a bargain a mile away but if I’m looking at automotive performance parts I need help because I know nothing about cars. I haven’t watched “Confessions of a Shopaholic” because I’m not really into designers or spending a lot of money.
However, I do have one shopping confession to make. My name is Sarakastic & I don’t know how to wear a scarf. This is a trend that seems to come & go. I see women wearing scarves over t-shirts & scarves over sweaters & just scarves & coats & it looks very cute. I think “I can do that.” I really can’t. Whenever I try it makes my neck hurt or I get too warm. I have even tried to wear them in my hair & they always fall out. I probably own at least ten scarves just because I love them.
Also, I bought a western shirt yesterday. It is my very first one, even though I’ve lived in Utah for a long time. I still don’t own a cowboy hat. Nor have I ever worn a cowboy hat. Not even to take a picture.
That was the question this year. I had to decide whether to go out shopping on the busiest day of the year. You know the day after thanksgiving. The day after I’ve spent all day shopping. So what could entice me to make my first venture out on such a day? 500 thread count sheets at Walmart for $20 even though I really need heated mattress pads instead. Yes, I considered the long lines & the fights that always break out & being awake before the sun.
I finally decided to just wake up early & see if I could get the sheets online. I was only there about 45 minutes after the sale went online, & pretty much everything was cleared out. Hopefully something of similar value will turn up online in the next few weeks, but I doubt it. It’s the one that got away. Did you go to out for the day after thanksgiving sale?
I live in Utah where it’s pretty much always winter. For some reason, I don’t own a pair of boots. They just seemed really expensive. Pleather boots were running from $50-$100, even at chain stores. I have no idea why they are so expensive, it’s just a tall pair of shoes right? I don’t mind spending money on something, but I can’t justify it if it’s poor quality. Plus, I had trouble finding a pair of boots that were comfortable. I was thinking that I’d have to look into best diet pills because none of the boots were fitting. I wear a size 7.5, but I went up to a size 8 & they fit fine. I chose a suede fabric with a little stretch to it.
Finally, I found an affordable pair of boots & it’s changed everything. My entire wardrobe seems to have transitioned from summer to fall with one pair of shoes. I can wear short skirts & stay warm. I’ve been avoiding buying boots all these years because they seemed so expensive. I usually think “I need a pair of boots, but this sweater is a lot less expensive so I’ll buy it instead.” Now it’s like I have at least twenty new pieces of clothing. Magic.
