Of the handful of serious relationships in my life, all but one of my boyfriends has ended up dating one of my roommates. Somehow, I just don’t see marriage on the horizon, well at least until I get my own apartment sans roommates. I don’t really envy the weddings, they just seem like a lot of hassle, but I do envy the “fancy” ring. For most women the only piece of “nice” jewelry they will ever own is their engagement ring. Single women deserve sparkly things too. We still have to sort boys, and buy dozens of blenders for our engaged friends. Hence the trend of the right hand ring was born. So how does one choose a ring that encompasses everything that you are?
1. What is your birthstone? Do you love it? If not, why? My birthstone is ruby, and I don’t love how expensive and cloudy rubies are, and that they are often set in yellow gold. What’s your signature piece or favorite color or clothing item?
2. If you had to save one thing from your house what would it be? Maybe your grandmother was important to you and you can take a piece of her jewelry and have it put in a new setting.
3. What do you want to say that you never get the chance to? Do you want to say that you have a feminine side, or are strong, or that you are obsessed with Jennifer Aniston?
My right hand ring is a three stone tanzanite. I chose it because it is rare, and like nothing that most people see, like me
