This was the question that was in my mind as I watched the season finale of "Shear Genuis". Daisy had consistently produced beautiful hairstyles. Watching her, she just seemed radiant. She just kept talking about how the universe provides for those who want it enough. It seemed like that was true when she was selected first to pick out outfits that would suit her hairstyles. Daisy kept talking about how she has always visualized winning this competition.

Then, everything started going wrong, & like the secret says, it spiraled. She dropped hair color. She made haircuts that were just plain ugly. She told her models not to smile, which just made them look like they were unhappy with their ugly hair. She was eliminated first, when I was sure that she had this competition hands down before this episode. Anthony, won & he didn’t mention the universe one time. So can "The Secret" help you win reality tv? Well, not tonight.

After watching “Shear Genius” last night I can’t help but wonder why do people do it? Why do they fight with other people on national television over award money that they could’ve made in the month styling hair? Plus, taxes will get most of the money. Why do people agree to be on TV shows where they are stranded on an island & forced to eat rats. It’s because we all want to be famous I suppose. However, I’m just not the reality show type. I’d be too embarrassed to get into petty fights on national television. It seems that these are the only reality stars that become famous, the really witchy ones, & that’s not what I want to be known for. I’d much rather find a <a href="http://showbizltd.com/_sbl_pages/acting_agents.html"rel="nofollow">talent agent & become famous the old fashion way. Showbiz LTD can put you in touch with the people that will put you in movies & commercials, as well as open auditions. I think you’ll have much more lasting power as a star doing this. With reality shows, you are only famous until the next reality show starts & someone on that show is more insane & annoying than you were. This way you can be known for your talent, not your drama.

Shear Genius is ending next week, which means that there was a reunion show tonight. There was also a show before that, Dr. Boogie got eliminated. Quite a recap eh? I’ve just had too much Shear Genius for one night I think, it’s best to just take it in small doses…very small doses. There weren’t a lot of shockers in the reunion special. It was just the basic, "Whose that guy whose name I can’t remember wearing the sparkly shirt to get attention?" reunion show. The only really surprising part was how catty Anthony was.

The high point was definitely the unaired clips of Jaclyn Smith crying after ever single stylist was eliminated. It was nice to see that she really cares & is as nice off camera as she is on.

The low points, & there were many (it is a reunion special after all)

Evangelin cutting her own hair with hedge clippers. That girl is just determined to make hedge clippers the next big thing. It’s not evolution if someone is risking getting their head cut off, that’s called a step backwards.

Tabatha & Tyson stiiiillll fighting. Tabatha even brought Tyson’s mom into it. I ended up muting the last twenty minutes of the show because I didn’t want to see any more of it.

So next week is the finale with Daisy going up against Anthony & Ben. Don’t give in to the curse of the allure hall of fame Daisy, just don’t do it.

I am still in awe after last night’s episode of "Shear Genius". I just can’t believe that both Tabatha & Tyson were sent home. I thought it was the last thing that would happen. I think overall, they have been the strongest hairstylists. They have consistently delivered innovative hairstyles that are also beautiful. It must be the curse where last weeks winner is always sent home the next week. It’s like the judges aren’t even trying anymore. They just look up at the Allure Hall of Fame & eliminate the last picture they see.

Granted Tabatha & Tyson have also been the most annoying & dramatic. For that reason alone I thought that they would surely stay. It seems like the most evil people are always sent home at the very end of the competition because they make "good TV". For instance, Tabatha was happy that Tyson was going home, even though she was eliminated as well. I don’t really know who is the best hairdresser now. It will be interesting to see who steps up to take the evil/drama position that must be filled in all Reality Shows, the good Dr. perhaps?

It was another night of "Shear Genius" last night. I was so disappointed to see Danna go last night. I think it was her personality that really made me like her, even though her hair-do was pretty ugly. The thing about "Shear Genuis" is that there are several hair stylists that act like hair stylists, & then there are several people that can actually do hair. For instance, I Anothony has such a grea hair stylist attitude, but he can’t really cut hair. Ben is the same way, as well as Tabitha, they talk a good game, but they can’t really cut hair. Unfortunately, truly talented people like Danna & Daisy get overlooked just because they aren’t primadonna’s.

In a way I’m glad I’m not a hairdresser. Yes, it would be nice to be able to have all that attitude & annoying confidence & always have great hair, however I just wouldn’t be able to handle Jaclyn Smith telling me that I’m a disappointment. That is just one of the reasons while I’ll never go on "Shear Genius".

Two stylists were eliminated this episode, Lacey was sent home for daring to mess with the classic haircut that is Meg Ryan in the short cut challenge. The next challenge was to cut hair with common household items & gardening tools. Props to Evangaline, she was one of the first people to pick her tool & chose the huge gardening shears, while everyone else stuck to household scissors, craft scissors, & razors. She is the queen of the mind games.

Basically we saw the same hair cut over & over so I don’t know how the judges decided to eliminate anyone. In the end it was Theodore who got the axe, & he had one of the classiest exits on any reality show. It was almost like he was excited to leave, he had more enthusiasm than most people that win. I really think that Ben or Anthony are the best stylists there, so it will be interesting to see what happens next week. I said after "Top Design" that I wasn’t going to get addicted to another reality show, but it’s not my fault, they have to cut hair really fast with gardening shears, who wouldn’t want to see that?

Bravotv has done it again. I don’t know how they make the best reality shows, such as "Project Runway", & "Top Design", but they always pull through. I would much rather watch people trying to accomplish their goals, than eating rats & forming alliances. Last night was the premier of "Shear Genius". I promised myself I wouldn’t become addicted to it, & I didn’t think I would because hair is just hair to me.

It’s the perfect show formula though, the host is a "Charlie’s Angel" that was somehow talked into getting into the "Charlie’s Angels" stance using a hairdryer instead of a gun. There’s the pompous guy with no real talent. There’s a guy who takes hair dressing so seriously that he calls himself Dr. & dresses only in scrubs. Plus, with 12 hair dressers in the same room, of course there will be drama. Just when I gout out of the vicious cycle that was "Top Design" they pull me back in.
