The preemptive wedding dress fitting

weddingdresstryon.jpgThere have been several times in my life when people have said “Let’s go try on wedding dresses”. I usually think, ok why don’t we just go & try to drive a fire truck while we’re at it seeing as none of us are engaged.

Sure, I’ll wear a tiara. However, that isn’t delusional because I’m actually a princess. Yes it would be fun to clean the house wearing a wedding dress like on that episode of “Friends” where all the girls wore wedding dresses. I’ve just never tried one on because I’m not actually engaged. How about you? Did you try on wedding dresses before you got engaged?

Every Little Detail

weddingcolor.jpg

I think that most women see their wedding as a chance to shine. They finally get to be princess for a day. This is why everything has to be perfect, & why they get caught up in every little detail. On all of the bridal shows that I watch, it’s amazing how the simplest thing will become such a big deal. I think this is because brides just try to do too much.

I really think that brides should buy their wedding favors. This cuts out a lot of stress, & can even save money depending on where you shop. Little Things Favors has been in business since 2003. However, they are launching an expanded wedding favor site that has over 2,6000 different items, everything from wedding favors, to baby shower favors. If you order more than $50 worth, you can get 10% off with the coupon code grandopening.

I was amazed by the selection at this site. It’s very well organized. They even have bridal accessories & gifts for bridesmaids. This can save you a lot of time running around trying to put everything together. You can take care of several things all at one great site. My favorite part is probably the wedding favors under $1. There were over a 150 favors to choose from in that section alone.

Another really great thing about this site is that they offer free shipping to the lower 48 states. I love that because so often you see things at a low price & then they gouge you on the shipping to make up for it. At Little Things Wedding Favors, the price you see is the price you pay. So it is possible to have the perfect wedding, & to have every little detail in place, you just need to know where to go.

Not another one!

bridesmaidsdress.jpg

Well, June is over, so the odds are that you have a new bridesmaid’s dress sitting in your closet that you will most likely never wear again. You might be thinking, not another one! These dresses are too pretty, expensive, or sentimental to throw away, but they are too ugly or wedding specific, or just plain bridesmaid-y to wear again.

I was looking over at Martha Stewart’s site, & there seems to be several patterns to remake these dresses into skirts, or cute flapper dresses. I love this idea because it is cost effective, & you are taking something that might have been ugly & using it again in a more beautiful form.

Plus, bridesmaid dresses usually have pretty good quality material. Besides the fact that it’s just sweet revenge to cut up a dress that you spent way too much money on that you didn’t even get to pick out.
