More Must Have Colors

I know that technically the must have color for this year is supposed to be tango tangerine but can you really imagine anyone wearing that? Granted, there probably isn’t the need for professional liability in this case, but it just isn’t fair to choose a color that isn’t going to look good on so many women. I think one of the hottest colors right now in everyday fashion is actually the color mint. I’m a little torn on this because I like green in theory. I decorate with it all the time. It used to be my favorite color. I always get compliments whenever I wear hunter green. However, any shade of pale green just seems to make me look sick. However, mint is so fresh looking that it has me thinking “Well I haven’t tried this shade of green yet”. Will you be wearing mint?

I was excited to see this show, as every princess certainly should be. However, I was a little bit disappointed by it. Sure, there was all of the sparkle that I’d expect. One girl had rhinestone studded boots that cast sparkles around the room better than any disco ball that I’ve ever seen. However, I was also shocked to see that the same prejudice apparently exists on this show as the UK show. They still can’t find event halls or even funeral homes that will keep their commitments to hold their parties. I had hoped this wouldn’t be the case in my country but thank you girls for bringing the rhinestones.

In The South

I love the way that things are done in the South. One of these things are all of the manners and how polite all of these “belles” are. I really laughed this week on Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids. I’d rather see a guy dressed in a nice suit or a cowboy hat and a luminox navy seal watch but the women of the south fascinate me.

I have noticed that the consultants have done this before. Sometimes a bride will have a totally horrible idea of how to put a color scheme together like purple and green dresses. One of the worst color schemes I’ve seen was royal blue, pewter, and bright canary yellow. However, it’s always supposed to be what the bride wants so you just can’t say that she has bad taste. Instead they say “We don’t want to steal attention away from the bride”. I’ve heard both of the bridesmaids and consultants say this. If you hear this, thank them for being polite and know that you need to change your dresses.

It seems like no matter what color you choose for a wedding your bridesmaids will complain about it. Sometimes for a country wedding I’d rather see a half chaps outfit with cute boots than a denim dress. I was surprised to see a lot of consultants complaining about this color on Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids. I was really shock as to what color it is. I think David Tutera has also complained about it a lot. I was surprised to find out what color it is, can you guess? It’s green. I thought it would be yellow or orange, but green seems to be a pretty common bridesmaids color. I guess it just isn’t a universally flattering color or tone and bridesmaids and consultants alike seem to be quite afraid of it.

I’m really excited to put together an entire present mountain for Mother’s Day. I am thinking about all of the wonderful possibilities that I could put together. I’d love to include personalized gifts for Mother’s Day , pajamas, and new dinnerware for the house. I could never buy enough cool stuff for my Mom because she’s just THAT good at being a mom. Is there anyone in your life who deserves more than one present and what would you get them if money was no object?

Would You Watch a Show..?

I’m just wondering if you’d ever watch a show based on clothes? This is probably why Mad Men is so successful. No one would watch if they were all wearing sweatshirts. I’m not talking about shows about fashion like Project Runway. I’m talking about watching a show not because of the plot but just to see how the characters are dressed. I have no desire to watch Smash. However, every commercial taunts me with cool coats like I’ve never seen before. Would you ever watch a show just to see cool clothes or is that just me?

The Present Mountain

This is a phrase that was on Gilmore Girls once and I fell in love with it. Granted that show had most important scenes with a wood gazebo present and I don’t have one of those to finish off the look. I usually build my own mountain of presents for my birthday. This year I’m trying to do the same thing for Mother’s Day because she deserves it. They are mostly smaller gifts, but at least there are a lot of them. I’m so excited for Mother’s Day because how can you be sad when you get to open presents all day long if you space it out properly?

Has Anyone Tried $5.99 Fashion?

I found out about this site $5.99 fashion when I was looking for a lot of Susie’s Deals replacements. Susie’s used to be my favorite store but a lot of them ended up closing down. Then they changed their pricing structure to be just $5.99 and up which is a huge difference. I always try to save money on household items, like I’d look into carpet cleaning durham nc options if I lived there. However, now it’s even cutting into my fashion budget.

I have been debating about whether or not to be able to try this site out for months. They have a different shipping policy where the more money that you spend the more you pay for shipping. I’ve really been into the quality of Coldwater Creek so now I’m spoiled. However, sometimes their stuff feels too matronly or it’s so nice that I try not to wear it too much. My theory with this new site is that if the stuff looks cheap online then it’s going to be worse in person. I ordered some of the most elegant things to combat this and can’t wait to try them out.

Being a Fashion Buyer

Like everyone who loves to shop there came a time when I really thought that I wanted to be a fashion buyer. Now I know how wrong I was about this thanks to the new show Fashion Star. It always amazes me how the buyers have to stay true to their customers and their store. What H&M likes, the other two buyers never seem to go to. For me it would just be too much pressure; I can barely find clothes that I like let alone try to figure out what will have mass appeal.
