Orange pearl earrings winner
Written on 7 June 2008 by PrincessI went to a shoe party tonight. It’s kinda like a tupperware party with shoes. I loved all of the bright colors of shoes. Like most other people I buy gold, brown or black shoes. It was so fun to just relax & try on green, orange & purple shoes. It really made me smile every time I looked at my feet. Hopefully these orange earrings will brighten someone’s day in the same way. The winner was drawn by a random number generator & a new contest will start on Monday. The earrings will go to Kate with her comment:
I would give these to one of my best friends who is going through a very hard time with health issues these days.

Update: This contest is now closed. Never fear, a new one will start on Monday.
I was watching this show about the running of the brides last night. Apparently, all these women gather for a semi annual sale at a wedding dress shop in Boston. They then proceed to run, grab, hit, trample & steal to get a handful of dresses to try on. I’ve never been a bride, but I find this truly frightening. A rack of dresses fell on one woman & no one really stopped to help her. I love shopping as much as the next person & I admire the bravery of those who attempt it, but I’d rather run with the bulls than with the brides. It just struck me how far a little kindness would go in such a situation. Instead, people seemed to be proud of how much hair they pulled.
In my own little way of spreading joy & happiness to the world I give away a piece of jewelry every week. The winner can either keep it, or pass it on to someone else. To enter the contest just read the rules & then leave a comment with a random act of kindness or who you would give this to & why. We always hear the bad stuff about people, but this is a chance to share the good things & encourage other people.
The prize this week are a pair of bright freshwater pearl earrings set in sterling silver. Pearl is the birthstone for June.
The Rules:
One entry per person per week.
Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. Winner will be chosen by a random number generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.
Contestants should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. I won’t sell or abuse your mailing address. If you’ve already won a Random Act of Bling, you can win again, but please give the jewelry away at random.
If you want to link or stumble this post it would be appreciated but is not required.
Comment/trackback/link should be about a random act of kindness or who you would give this jewelry to & why.

Turquoise beads winner
Written on 24 May 2008 by PrincessThe random number generator randomly number generated the numbers like it does so well & came up with a winner. That sentence didn’t work out as well as I had hoped. Anyways, the free turquoise beads go to Carrie with her comment:
This would make my day to win the beads. I don’t get out much with three small children but when I do I love to dress up even if its just to a church function.
A new contest will start on Monday.

Update: This contest is now closed, thanks to all who entered! A new contest will start on Monday.Random Acts of Bling in a nutshell is where I give away a piece of jewelry at random that will hopefully remind someone that they are special. The winner can either keep the jewelry or give it away. To enter the contest just read the rules & then leave a comment with who you would give this to or why, or a random act of kindness.
The prize this week is a little different. I picked up this 16″ strand of turquoise beads thinking that I’d string them into bracelets & they would be magnificent. Then I had visions of said bracelets breaking & the beautiful turquoise beads scattering all over the room & then people would trip on the beads & disaster would ensue all because I can’t tie a decent knot. It would make a pretty necklace as well. So, if you think you can do something with these leave a comment & let me know.
