I broke the blinds in my new apartment last week. I started getting overwhelmed until someone reminded me that all that happened was my blinds fell down, the majority of my life was still good and functional. I find it so easy to focus on the bad things and forget the good things. This is one of the reasons why I give away jewelry at random. Hopefully when life is bogging someone else down the jewelry will serve as a reminder that there are good things out there.
The winner can keep the jewelry or give it away to someone else. Just read the rules and then tell me who you would give this to and why or a random act of kindness.

I was reading a blog last week where someone casually asked the question “What’s your story?” It stopped me in my tracks. I think that is pretty much the dream question for everyone on the planet. Some of us even have prepared answers for it but the question never gets asked. So many people are looking for a chance to explain themselves and really be heard. Along the same lines every week I give away a piece of jewelry at random to allow someone to have a small moment in the spotlight. The winner can either pass it on to someone else or keep it. Last week I was at a garage sale and started talking to the lady in charge. We really had nothing in common, she was married, older, had kids. I think we both just needed someone to listen so we ended up talking for three hours & became good friends. It made me think about all of the other people I could’ve learned from that I just passed over. She really brightened my day & lent me encouragement.
