Onyx Sterling Earrings Giveaway

Update:  This contest is now closed but a new one starts on Monday!

I broke the blinds in my new apartment last week. I started getting overwhelmed until someone reminded me that all that happened was my blinds fell down, the majority of my life was still good and functional. I find it so easy to focus on the bad things and forget the good things. This is one of the reasons why I give away jewelry at random. Hopefully when life is bogging someone else down the jewelry will serve as a reminder that there are good things out there.

The winner can keep the jewelry or give it away to someone else. Just read the rules and then tell me who you would give this to and why or a random act of kindness.

The prize this week are sterling & onyx chandelier earrings.

The Rules:

Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. The winner will be chosen by a random number generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.

Contestants should be over 18 & live in the lower 48 states because I’ll be paying shipping. I won’t sell or abuse your mailing address.

If you’ve already won a Random Act of Bling, you can win again, but please give the jewelry away at random.

Please leave a valid e-mail address, this is how I will contact you if you win. The subject line of the email will say something like “Random Acts of Bling: You Won” I’ll also announce the winner in a blog post. If I can’t reach you then I might have to relist your prize.

If you want to link or stumble this post it would be appreciated but is not required.

Comment/trackback/link should be about a random act of kindness or who you would give this jewelry to & why.

Closet Before

I’m a fairly neat person. The one exception to this is my closet. I guess one of my big dreams is to have his & hers walk in closets. Of course both of them would be mine since I’m single. I could have one for summer & one for winter & then just walk into whichever closet fit the weird Utah weather that day. That is not the case. Instead I have this:

I don’t know what the exact dimensions of the closet are, unless tiny is a dimension. The weird white hanger in the middle is something I bought to alleviate the situation. It’s supposed to give you 10x the hanging room. My closet is so jam packed that if something falls off the hanger, it doesn’t even fall to the floor, it just stays there wedged between clothes. There are things in there that I haven’t even worn. This is simply because I can’t see everything I own. In it’s current state I’ll need incontinence products before I can find anything that I want. This picture doesn’t include the second dresser that I bought to house all of the clothes that should be hanging & I don’t have room for.

I have a lot of reorganization to do & a lot of more weird hangers to use. I’ll post after pictures when/if I finish. It’s a big project & I’d much rather just spend my time looking at Contest Mondays. I hope to be able to empty out my second dresser so I can move my clothes in the armoire into there. That way I can use the armoire as a bookshelf so I don’t have to buy a new one because I don’t have the room for it. Yes, this is all happening for more book storage. I really am a tidy person, I swear. For some reason this reminds me of the “There was an old woman who swallowed a fly…” song.

Oval Necklace Contest

This contest is closed but a new one starts next week!

I was watching my nephews play a game, they’d just learn about manners. It went something like “Please will you pay me $20 for landing on my property” “Thank you” “You are welcome.” What could’ve been a tense situation was sweet & funny. It made me realize that I forget to say these things in the most basic human interactions with my family. With strangers I usually remember, but with family not so much. I’ve been trying to do it more & it’s made a lot of difference just in my everyday life.

This is one of the reasons that I give away jewelry every week, I think that a little kindness can go a long ways. Whoever wins can keep the jewelry or give it away to someone else. Entering the contest is as easy as just leaving a comment with who you would give this to & why or a random act of kindness.

The prize this week is a sterling silver oval necklace with sterling chain. The pendant has a paisley pattern laser etched into it.

The Rules:

Please don’t sell the jewelry, it’s to make whoever receives it feel special. Winner will be chosen by a random number generator at 6pm on Friday Mountain Time.
