Sometimes all it takes to create a headboard is a little rearranging. This is something everyone can do & the best part is, it’s free. For instance, if you put your bed at an angle & then hang a canopy behind it, or just use big pillows on your bed, people won’t notice that you don’t have a headboard because an angle always creates interest & depth in a room. This especially works well if you have two corner windows.
You can even just push your bed against the wall for an instant daybed. Then just use pillows on the back to make it look more couch like & you will free up a lot of space in the middle of your room. You can even replace your nightstands with end tables & add a coffee table or ottoman in front of it, this is great if you live in a studio apartment.
