Sleep on it is an HGTV show that lets house hunters spend the night in a home they are considering buying. In the morning they have to make a decision. Will they buy it or pass it by?
I think it’s a great idea because they get to take the house for a test drive. Buyers get to see things like can they sleep through the noise of a nearby street? (They never can) I think it’s a novel idea. I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to try it. It would just feel weird to be living in someone else’s house with all of their things. Plus, I’d be mildly afraid that the place was haunted. Would you try it?

I’ve only seen the show once but I think it would be a good idea when something like a busy street might seriously be a deciding factor on whether you would be happy in the house. The episode I saw the couple had a party and invited friends and family over to get all of their opinions too. They got to find out if the kitchen was big enough for preparing the food for these big gatherings too, which they apparently hold often.
I don’t think I would feel comfortable allowing a buyer into my house like that, seems like it would allow for potential lawsuits that I just wouldn’t want to deal with. Everyone is sue happy and trying to hit the lawsuit lotto these days.

I like that show — but House Hunters is definitely my favorite. I don’t know how comfortable I would feel sleeping in someone else’s house that I barely know — but it is a great way to find out what you do & don’t like before purchasing a home.
