It seems like every older home has that hole in the drywall, right behind the door. You know the one, that place where the doorknob hit the wall. Yes, this can be a minor thing that can be overlooked & lived with everyday.
However, if you are looking to sell your house, this is exactly the kind of thing that needs to be taken care of. Buyers see little problems & think that there are bigger problems in the house. I was watching Home Renovations - Drywall Repair & was amazed at how easy this problem is to fix. Greg will even teach you how to finance your next home project. You can’t say that about most handymen. I really like the way these videos are setup. He tells you exactly what to expect so there are no surprises & shows you step by step. Plus, the videos are free to watch. These tips will take your house from fixer upper to perfect.
When I was a little kid I thought that bunk beds were the coolest. Someday, when I was rich, & had my own house, I was totally going to live in the lap of luxury & have a bunk bed, even though I didn’t share a room. Of course, I’d want the top bunk, & I could have it because again, it would be my room.
Somewhere along the way, bunk beds lost their allure. However, loft beds seem to be quite popular in dorms because you save a lot of floor space. However, unlike bunk beds, these often don’t come with railings. I saw on HGTV how you can just take a big tupperware box lid, put it in a pillowcase, & then tuck it between your mattress & bedframe so it’s a makeshift rail. Although you shouldn’t put tons of weight on it, it might keep you from falling out of bed. Maybe bunk beds are cool again.
It’s no secret that I love DIY projects. However, it’s like cooking, I need a recipe. I have little technical knowledge, so when it comes to something like finding the best shower, I just know that I want a shower that is pretty & has plenty of hot water & water pressure. If left to myself, I’d probably just stand in front of a big hole in the wall & scream “Be a shower”. This doesn’t deliver the best results, trust me.
So, I have to do research to find exactly what kind of shower will get me all of those things. I was checking out a new blog today called DIY Focus which has impartial advice & instructions for all kinds of DIY projects, like hanging wallpaper. Think of them as the DIY cookbook.

This is a bedroom canopy that I thought would make a great and inexpensive do it yourself project. You could make the frame out of PVC pipe or curtain rods. These tab top curtains seemed to always be on sale and you should be able to get them quite inexpensively. Sorry, I know you’re hoping for more steps but it’s really that simple & gives the illusion of a four poster bed for less than $100.
